in 0.5.6.0.0 the colourblind mod causes the loading screen to freeze. Battle starts though, U can hear the battle ongoing and (occasionally) ur ship sinking, but cant do anything. After disabling that mod, battle loads fine. Have the suspiscion that the colourblind mod is in conflict with the new mini-map layout

Yep, had that too - if color-blind mod activated, game freezes at loading screen and does not switch to battle - though You can hear the battle ongoing and also can hear Your ship sinking After disabling mod its OK -

colorblind mod (if activated) causes the game to stay on loading screen (sound of game switching on, you can listen all but see nothing), taking no inputs (WASD etc) and keeping you AKF.
Upon de-activation of colorblind mod everything is fine
