  1. Its been a while but I decided to play WoWs again, well more like a friend forced me to. Hopefully ya'll doing ok with the pandemic problem, stay safe and play safe. Effect: >Improves the clarity of the soft-textured ambient occlusion. CHANGELOG: >Initial Release, smaller download size, same quality. >Used different method of modifying textures, insted of Paint.net, its now XnConvert (it allows batch conversion and editing which saves tons of time)

[Recommend to delete previous version and do a clean mod installation to avoid texture conflicts]
  4. I wasnt either, change of orders, deployment still next year, instead we'll be at the South Korea DMZ for 3 weeks and I'll be back dont worry. So this release should be enough for 3 weeks.

  6. Sadly ever since WG proposed the further use of ReShade, I retired from the game. But I will be leaving behind a legacy, if anyone is willing to do it. Requirements: -Paint.net (with addons packs and scriptlab installed), the scriptlab is intended as an alternative to bulk processing which paint.net doesnt have, it will not apply the configuration to all images but will allow saving config presets. -WoWs GUI Unpacker (aslain should have it) -A Little bit of patience 0. Use my previus version as referrence if your having a hard time. 1. Open up the wows unpacker and load the contents 2. The unpacker can extract files based on what file extensions you like, for this instance we are looking for .dds files 3. Extract the .dds files 4. Go to the folder in which the files were extracted, to make things easier you need to use your windows's search function. 5. We are looking for ambient occlusion files, they always come with this pattern (FileName_ao.dds), if you want you can delete all non AO files for easy modding, but just in case you want to mod separate textures its better to keep them all. 6. I recommend changing the file view to lists and sort by name 7. Paint.net can only handle a mouthfull of files, so dont try and highlight them all and put em in pain.net it will crash it. 8. This next part is mostly a player's own taste, make it dark or make it sharp, it doesnt matter, its your mod, you make it. 9. Once everything is finised, make sure to save it as .dds with DXT5. **I am getting deployed next year, If I do return alive and WG approves of ReShade use, then my return shall be inevitable** -PFC Bacani, 1-294th IN REGT Assistant Gunner, US Army: Guam National Guard

  9. Works like a charm, because of the new file structures it loads its contents a little faster now, thanks Aslain.
  10. So it seems like the new patch changed the way packages work, it made in game loading more faster and definitely took longer to download. But main problem now is the wows unpacker doesnt recognize the new structure. I planned on updating my Ambient Occlusion mod with new features but no can't do for now. If anyone knows another way to unpack, feel free to comment it.

Download: http://uploadas.com/wfq1xd0zqfot/Modified_Ingame_Native_AO_v1.5.7z.html Requirements: >Disable driver enforced ambient occlusion or any other form of ambient occlusion (unless you don't care about waste of fps) >Should be installed as final just in case multiple mods are there. Installation: >Extract the contents to "World of Warships/res_mods/x.x.x.x(res version) >Replace any existing files (Just in case they do) Effect: >Improves the in-game ambient occlusion to be more visible/darker. CHANGELOG: -Alpha Release >Every model/ships as of 0.5.15.2 -v1.0 >Every model/ships as of 0.5.16.0 >Revamped and Fixed all textures >Added german destroyer line -v1.1 >Every model/ships as of 0.6.0.0 >Changed AO texturing method to Emboss (Similar to NVIDIA's Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion, but it is just a replica it is not a guaranteed real thing, but you will notice on this screenshot http://pasteboard.co/nYp3A7OkB.png almost all edges are darkened the same way the real thing does. [Please note that the method I used on previous versions are all SSAO Based for those who wants to know]) >Added USS SWEEEEET HOME AAAALABAMA! -v1.1b >Changed AO texturing method back to SSAO (This is actually better because the previous version removed the game's ability to emulate soft shadows) >Improved darkening on textures -v1.1c >Revamped the entire game's ao files (found out there were files besides the ship ones, so I decided to extract all game files and find all the ao ones) >Files consists of some port textures, some trees, etc, but most of them are terrain files. (566 Total AO Files that I found in the game's entirely extracted files, including the pre-existing ones) -v1.1d >Skipped due to various resorting and organizing files -v1.2 >RECOMMEND TO REINSTALL ALL YOUR MODS (Last version that I uploaded had those unecessary AO files) >Removed uneccesary AO files (Didn't have any eyecandy effect or just useless) >Added a couple of new files as of update 0.6.1.0 (It was a bunch of destroyers I think, and some russian ships) >544 Total AO Files on this mod (Have to put this every now and then for future references just in case I get confused) -v1.3 >Applied Gradient Mapping technique to all textures to normalize darkening. >Added couple of new maps/probably ships too as well >All textures as of 0.6.2.0 >590 Total AO Files on this mod -v1.4 >Applied Gaussian Blur to increase darkening radius >Added the "currently testing" french cruisers. >Added USS Alabama (different from v1.1) >600 Total AO Files on this mod (recommend to replace all files) -v1.5 >Added the italian Duca d' Aosta >Retained the french cruisers since there were no differences made since its test phase >Rearranged all files as per game files (some files got removed, and some got totally sorted out, ie. USN ships have been rearranged by devs) >Added couple of maps that I missed such as the golden harbor >598 Total AO Files on this mod
