  1. Thanks Q. I installed it and all seemed well. I just wanted to let peeps know there could be an issue.
  2. Getting a error message when I hover over the download button on Wotmods.net, Is there an issue?
  3. The newest mod pack would not install because of a file named "patch". I had this issue a long time back and I couldn't fix it. So, I tried to uninstall WoT back then. No luck because of that file. Now the issue has returned. I used the uninstall file in the mod pack to uninstall the entire mod pack but, it didn't remove the file. Everytime I try to delete that file I'm told I need admin permission. The "patch" file is in three different folders (see attached). How do I fix this issue? (RESOLVED)
  4. I'm suffering from the same problem even after altering my settings to mirror those that allegedly work. It won't be fixed until tomorrow as it IS New Years Eve over there and I'm sure Aslain is having a nice time. Happy New Year!
  5. We've managed to muddle along so far without any updates. We will stagger onward, until you are healthy enough to come back. NOTHING is more important than your health and well-being. Get better soon!
  6. Sending prayers your way. Get well soon. Does anyone have any news?
  7. Does supporting you include ad free DL's? (j/k) I love your mod pack but, Webroot Secure Anywhere doesn't like it much. Every time I run a scan it shows files in the mod pack as malware rootkits. Malware Bytes doesn't find the same thing. Neither does Avast. Keep up the good works! I'll send more money later!
  8. The only thing that worked for me was to boot into Win10 Safe Mode and delete the file from there then restart system normally. For those who don't know how to boot into Safe Mode on Win10: >Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power > Restart. >After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. >After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options: >>Select F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking. (I used F4. Once it boots the Desktop will load in low resolution. Get to your C:/Games/World of Tanks/res_mods/config/xvm/Aslains/patch.exe file. Delete the file then delete the "config" folder. There should be nothing but 9.20 (or9.19) folder there. If there is another folder, delete that as well. There should be NOTHING in the /res_mods folder except the version folder.) Once you've deleted everything just shutdown and start your computer.
  9. It's not going to help me. I AM the Admin. My computer will NOT allow me to uninstall the res_mods folder because it contains a file(patch.exe) that I, as Admin, CANNOT read, run or delete. This is the SECOND time this has happened. It happened the first time after 9.19 was released. For some reason it fixed itself. Everything was fine until the #10 patch was released. I installed that, it hung up at the error, I clicked ignore, now only half the mods work. The NON-XVM mods. xvm is completely disabled.
  10. This is how I fixed the "permission" error for the "sed.exe" and "patch.exe" files during installation of the mod pack. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT EDITING USER PERMISSIONS!! The possibility exists that you could LOCK YOURSELF COMPLETELY OUT OF THE COMPUTER!!! Call your preferred nerd to help!! After you download the mod pack, go to your download file (or where-ever you send your downloaded files) right click the mod pack .exe file, select "Properties" click "Compatibility" tab, check the "Run as Administrator" box then "Apply". Run the installer as you normally would. (I use the "Run" command). If you still get the "permission" error, open your OS Explorer, right click your main drive (or the drive where the game files are located), right click the drive letter (C:/ for most people) select the "Security" tab. Once that's open, make sure all the "Users" in the window are "Allowed" by clicking (highlighting) each one and look in the lower window, if not, click the "Edit" button and select each User in the TOP window, check "Full Access" in the LOWER window, click "Apply", select the next User, check "Full Access", until every User has full access. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "APPLY" after modifying EACH USER. Once you've completed that, shut down the computer, wait ten seconds, boot up and try installing the mod pack again. I am NOT responsible for any damage! IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT EDITING PERMISSIONS, CALL SOMEONE WHO CAN DO IT FOR YOU!!
  11. After granting permissions and rebooting, I can now see a difference in the file icon for "patch.exe" but, "sed.exe" icon didn't change. What DID happen was I could finally change the compatibility setting in the properties for "sed.exe" to "Run as Administrator". I ran the Aslain uninstaller program, manually deleted the leftover folder and closed the game file. I went to my download folder, right clicked the #14 exe file and changed that compatibility to "Run as Admin". Here is a screenshot of what the updated icon for "patch.exe" looks like now, as well as the tiny Admin shield displayed on the "sed.exe" file. I have shutdown my anti-virus, run CCleaner, deleted all entries in the registry and I am going to install the mod pack #14 now. Updates will be posted soon.
  12. (edit 17July 01) I finally figured out how to give permissions. All permissions need to be set up on the MAIN drive (C:/). HOWEVER, as the computer was setting the permissions, it stopped on....you guessed it, "sed.exe" and "patch.exe" and REFUSED to give me permission for JUST THOSE TWO FILES. This leads me to believe it is NOT a "local" problem but, a problem WITH THOSE TWO FILES. I re-installed #12 and yes, it hung on those files yet again. I "ignored" them ("not recommended" by Aslain) as it was the ONLY way for the mod pack to finish installation. Other than this problem, the mod pack is wonderful. BUT, I DO resent that you are recommending installing files on MY computer that I, as the computer owner, cannot delete. (OP 17June 30) I've got the very same problem. Before #13 all was well. Now, it's FUBAR. I can't even uninstall World of Tanks because of those two files. This is the second time Aslain has f*cked up my computer. Here's what you requested to report a bug: Aslains_WoT_Logs.zip
  13. Hats off! Thank you. added 1 minute later Oh, and I never said I was infected by your site, I said I was infected when I used a torrent download. It was from another site entirely. Sorry for the mis-understanding.
  14. I downloaded the Aslain's WoT ModPack v9.19.0.2 #02 yesterday and noticed the link for "download link #4 [direct]" was crossed out so, I used #3 direct. Today, I go back to see if there was a new DL (there was. #03) and I noticed that the DL links for #1, #3 and #4 were crossed out. So, DL'd from the #2 link. 3 minutes to download as compared to a less than a minute on #4 when I used the [direct] link. I NEVER use the "download link #*" because it sends me to Adfly and it takes FOREVER to download the new releases. I used a torrent twice in the past, got infected and never used a torrent file, knowingly, again. Are the disabled download links ever coming back?
  15. You aren't the only one experiencing this problem. It has nothing to do with the Mod Pack. It's on WG end. Somwtimes the list loads, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it takes a while but, it will load. 3 different outcomes for the contact list, never, sometimes, delayed.
