yessuz
Trojan reported on the Mod pack installer file! Native Windows defender. ???? Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted March 12, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 12, 2019 It's a false-positive. My modpack is safe. Check on http://virustotal.com if you don't trust it. Quote Link to comment

Administrator Aslain Posted March 12, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 12, 2019 It totaly doesn't matter if previous version was ok to antivir software. Looks like MS Defender received some bugged update and started to mark my software as trojan for no reason. The binary image of my modpack is changing with every modpack update, so each new version of modpack is like totaly new .exe for such antivir. Quote Link to comment
My_Gaming_TV
It's not the modpack as a whole, there is a specific file in the pack that is a threat. Not saying I don't trust you Aslain cause I do without a doubt, but Antivirus aren't out to get you and there could be a threat. Always better to be safe than sorry. Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted March 13, 2019 Moderator Share Posted March 13, 2019 There isn't any threat. See the chatbox for the post Aslain just made.. he might post it in here too. Your screenshot also shows the modpack as a whole, not a specific file at all. Quote Link to comment

knwhitney
Update: I ran another virus definition update from the Windows Defender GUI and it corrected the problem. I was able to successfully download and install the current ModPack... Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted March 13, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 13, 2019 I don't know why it didn't work that way, this is what MS gave me so hard to tell, maybe this method requires a system restart but since GUI part update worked for you... Quote Link to comment

XJadynX
Trying to Download the mod again and neither Chrome nor Firefox will let me saying Virus Detected, Download failed. I've tried 20 times to get around it and can't. Quote Link to comment
Darth_Clicker
I have downloaded both WoT and WoWS modpacks using Chrome and Avira AntiVirus Pro without any problems. No virus warnings etc. Both are clean. I suggest that you have some sort of local issue with a false positive being generated. Quote Link to comment
XJadynX
Yea well that false positive is preventing me from Downloading it I'm open to suggestions on how to Get around it. 7 hours ago, Darth_Clicker said: I have downloaded both WoT and WoWS modpacks using Chrome and Avira AntiVirus Pro without any problems. Administrator Aslain Posted March 14, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 14, 2019 Update your antivir, then restart PC afterwards too just in case. Get new modpack too, sometimes new .exe helps with false-positives. Quote Link to comment
Silverbullet-AO-
I tried yesterday and now today to get the latest update, It keeps telling me virus detected and it cancels the download. I have never had this issue before until yesterday. Edited March 14, 2019 by Silverbullet-AO- Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted March 14, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 14, 2019 Maybe install some real antivirus, it should disable that one IIRC. Moved your post to proper topic since posted in wrong one. Quote Link to comment
tz8
weird thing is: downloading the file from https://wgmods.net/ (the wargaming mods website) does not trigger the false positive... rather strange! Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted March 14, 2019 Administrator Share Posted March 14, 2019 Not strange, it's different .exe on wgmods (without couple of adult mods), the binary image is different between the version. So it's normal I would say. There is even a chance that the warning from an AV will be gone with a new modpack update, because every modpack update is creating a new binary image with totaly different checksum.
