Viruses with mods?

Recommended Posts

So i just had my Laptop cleaned out of a lot viruses which harmed the preformance of the laptop. So now i would like to get no viruses again. But people told me its impossible to download mods without viruses. Because it's a "mirrored download" or something, there will always be a virus attached to it. But i have played with Aslains for years. So, is there a possibility to download mods without viruses? Or is Aslains clean enough?

Note: I didn't know at which topic this message should be, sorry.

There will always be a virus attached to it? Whoever told you that, has no clue, honestly.

There's no virus around here. If you got one, it wasn't from Aslain's.

If you're worried about the ad-supported link - there's a "direct" link right next to it... like a few pixels to the right of the other one.

This adfly nonsense very very often will lock up windows and announce IU have to pay somebody with bitcoin to unlock it. I restart and then go into task manager, stop Edge, and then it is OK kinda. Now the adfly just directs me to a anime porn and has no way to go to the installer. Find a new ad service this adfly is corrupted and criminal and Aslain should stop risking all the users for the little return on the adfly shit. Likely the only reason they have it is to rip off users of the mods. One more experience and after years I will be done with this and go to another mod publisher with no regrets

As Quaksen said, there is a direct link to the Mod that doesn't use Adfly. I always use that link as I run NoScript and UBlock, and its annoying to have to turn it off. Have never got a virus from the direct link or an alert.

Cheers

I normally only use the AdFly links as an easy way to send a bit of support Aslain's way.  I have never gotten any type of virus or malware from AdFly.  But...I never  click on anything on the page except for the "Skip Ad" button in the top right corner of the page.  I have followed this practice for years now and have had zero problems.

I suspect that any issues that people have with AdFly is user error.  The user makes the error of clicking on a link, or saying yes to some weird pop-up etc.  Be patient and only click on the "Skip Ad" after it appears.
