Losing control in battle

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: Apparently the fault is on the Internet Service provider named "FREE".

UPDATE: It seems to be a french/french problem only.

As  hub2bet1 explain in his post here.

UPDATE: Send tickets reports, and do it massively, to send an alarm to WOT, inciting them to solve this issue quickly.

To ticket report technical pbm, you first have to generate reports by following instructions on this page (change language in the adress bar (/en/es/ etc. . .) that fits your needs.

VERY IMPORTANT, it will make you not losing your time redoing it: if you get the problem also in failsafe mode, make a report in failsafe mode.

I explain:

1- kupjones pointed that chances are that it is a network pbm (if you want to know about, just read kupjones posts below in this thread).

2- I agree, and from this you must do the following. You will have to generate 2 reports, one while playing couples of games until the check is done (the report about network, the most important for our pbm, I think.), then a report about game itself, no need to play for this one. You can generate more than one for any of them, you may have to rename the network report because I think (you have to verify, as I'm not 100% sure), one network check erase the previous one.

3- determine if you have the problem in failsafe mode too, by playing a couple of games in failsafe. You can then, at the same time, to not lose time follow the procedure on the page (link below "Tests procedures to follow") to run a NETWORK CHECK when playing a few games. You have to select which network to check eu1 or eu2, then play games on the network you choose to play on, I lost a lot of time because of this, don't lose time too. If you have the pbm in failsafe, no need to make reports in normal mode: it is not aslains mods that are creating the pbm, it is almost surely WOT itself, if you want to know more read kupjones posts down in this thread.

If, while playing a few games, during the check, you don't generate the problem, you'll have to do it again, until you generate it while playing.

Sending a network report without having the problem is surely useless.

4- Then Make the game report, no need to play for this one.

5- Open a technical pbm ticket and join the report created to it.

Tests procedures to follow:

https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/article/10248/

Ticket page, select "technical", then either "Game crash or Doesn't Start" or "Connection", you decide. I, for myself, didn't saw "Connection", so I reported it in "Game crash or Doen't start", but I think "Connection" is a better choice:

https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/help/

You'll find out by yourself the missing pieces that I may have forgotten to mention, as they are obvious and well detailed in the web pages I provided links for.

I even give you my text ticket that you can copy and paste not to lose time and modify if you wish, here it is with the list of the joined files (the  first 3 files are game checks, the 4th file is the network check):

---------------------------------------------------------

OS: Win 7 Pro SP1
Network report is done with game in failsafe mode.
Tank become totally uncontrolable for random time, enough to be killed, as it continues what it was doing when it happens, and it happens more than one time during the game, randomly.
I must add that, the very first time it happens, I though it was a disconnection, as it was really acting the same, when you're in a battle and the ISP disconnect.
Aslains forum members are plenty to face the same pbm, and one of them already had it some times before, here's what he wrote:
"I have to be honest here -- losing control *usually* means packet loss even though the game client is still running. Download PingPlotter and point it to, say, Google and see if it reports any loss in the path. If it does then you can use the trace to "backwalk" toward you until you identify the source of the loss. In the past the loss was right at the WOT NA game servers and I spent months sending them traces and telling them exactly which piece of hardware was showing the loss. WG ended up moving to Central US off the East coast and things have been better since then."

UPDATE: I propose that everyone that hit this problem ticket report immediately to WOT tech help, that is what I will do right now.

UPDATE: Played on second EU server and with different accounts: same problems.

As kupjones pointed out in a post down there, and unfortunately chances are high that he is right :

I have to be honest here -- losing control *usually* means packet loss even though the game client is still running.   Download PingPlotter and point it to, say, Google and see if it reports any loss in the path.  If it does then you can use the trace to "backwalk" toward you until you identify the source of the loss.   In the past the loss was right at the WOT NA game servers and I  spent months sending then traces and telling them exactly which piece of hardware was showing the loss.   WG ended up moving to Central US off the East coast and things have been better sicen.

UPDATE: In failsafe mode I lost tank control too

UPDATE: I added all the files you list into your post:

If the archiver won't work properly for you, please attach following files, from that example paths:

c:\Games\World_of_Tanks_EU\python.log

c:\Games\World_of_Tanks_EU\xvm.log

c:\Games\World_of_Tanks_EU\Aslain_Modpack\_Aslains_Installer.log

c:\Games\World_of_Tanks_EU\Aslain_Modpack\_Aslains_Installer_Options.inf

c:\Games\World_of_Tanks_EU\Aslain_Modpack\_Aslains_Installer_CompList.log

And reuploaded Aslains_WoT_Logs.zip

UPDATE: I put python.log into a zip I named Aslains_WoT_Logs.zip, thanks to kupjones for the info on which file to select.

I hope it is what you need.

UPDATE: upgraded to #14, after around 10 games I can report exactly all of the same bugs, not better nor worst

As usual I used Aslains_WoT_Logs_Archiver.exe that created an empty Archiver_Logs folder, so no log file to add to this post.

The game is working ok in safe mode.

ModPack: Aslains_WoT_Modpack_Installer_v.1.7.0.2_13.exe

OS: Win 7 Pro SP1

Tank become totally uncontrolable for one minute or a little more than that, enough to be killed, as it continues what it was doing when it happens, and it happens more than one time during the game, randomly.

I must add that, the very first time it happens, I though it was a disconnection, as it was really acting the same, when you're in a battle and the ISP disconnect.

I read comments on bugs about last version, so I'm reluctant to upgrade.

Shall I upgrade anyway?

Or can you tell me what to remove to stop this behavior, until last upgrade become less buggy?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Add to this that since modpack #12 upper left and right tank list display partially disapear in battle after a random number of game, have to close and reopen the game.

Sometimes too, when launching a battle the game close (crash?).

LOL -- I guess I missed that part in your original post, sorry.   And for Aslain to look at it you have to upload the python.log file.  I've never seen the archiver *not* do its thing, so no idea why that wouldnt do it.   Follow this link

Could you please tell me how to remove all the mods ?

I want to try without any mods because it's impossible to have a normal game

Really easy: in the game center, click on the right side of the big orange play button, there is  a little vertical strip that let you launch the game in failsafe mode: failsafe mode is without mod, so that is the easy way to play it without "uninstalling" anything.

Good Luck

Try installing a virgin copy of WOT via the Game Center, then try that copy.   I wish Game Center would allow us to rename the game instance but it doesnt (at least I havent found a way) so you have to remember which instance it is as they are assigned a number.

I'm afraid you're right.

TY Kupjones, I was suspecting either wot server or my Internet Service Provider (he could do it just to reduce cost, due to hungry customers like players are).

I hope it is wot, because as you already saw in this thread, I'm not alone having this problem.

I'll try server 2, and report back.

I'll be standing by

I updated my first post (everything is always into the first post, as it is simpler to access updated infos).

I just sent rreports to technial WOT help with logs and explanations.

Hope they will react fast (which I highly doubt), as it is impossible to play like that.

I hope that lots of people having the same problem, will read this thread and report logs to wot (which I also doubt, too . . .).

Wait and see . . .

Hi, I received an answer at my WG ticket. The problem is located by the internet provider Free in France.

I will try to play again today. Maybe they detected sometthing.

Ohhhh . . . it is Free the french ISP provided which do that, surely to restrain players to use brandwith, this is unacceptable.

Did you talk to Free to suppress the problem?

Do you still have the problem? and if / when you will not have it anymore would you be so kind as to post here to let us know?, thanks in advance.
