perspective lock - tank becomes independant of view

Aslain, I reproduced the problem once more after enabled BalCalc mod (plus session stats, but those weren't available in 4.3.1).

 

When it occurs, it seems as if the camera remains in one location but follows your tank.  So if you keep driving you eventually drive away from the camera.  You can no longer turn  your turret, and auto-aim only seems to work on targets within the camera's field of view.  I don't think I can correlate a specific event with the occurrence of this bug, however.

 

I did find these errors in python.log right after the bug occurred.  (I ALT-TAB'd to the desktop and opened python.log):

If you want, I can point you to my latest replay where the bug occurred in my Matilda IV.  I will upload my python.log.  Meanwhile, I'm going to disable BalCalc and see if the problem still occurs.  If I had access to the Python source code I might be able to diagnose the problem.  Any idea how I might get that code?

Hey Hockey and Aslain, I just wanted to give an update on my own account: It seems to happen only when I view a tank being killed and a majority of the times it's been happening from JPG e100s...  2/3 times I killed that tank today, I've bugged out.

 

Other than that, its really random and is often followed by screen tearing where my screen is divided in half (left and right side) and flickers...

Other than that, its really random and is often followed by screen tearing where my screen is divided in half (left and right side) and flickers...

Gumby, I haven't had any CTD's with this version of Aslain's.  I'm using P_Mod and J1mB0's, FWIW.

 

I had this occur once too but am mainly looking into 'game crashes to desktop', which testing (not exhaustive by any means) suggests may be a combination of 'some sight mods' and 'zoom mods'.

 

Try running with _either_ 'standard sights' OR 'standard zoom'.

Darn.  I was hoping that would be the common thread.  All my testing points to that mod, but without knowing exactly how to trigger the bug I can't test with precision.

I've been suffering this as well but has stopped since I've disabled Battle Calc mod. One thing I've noticed but hasn't been mentioned is that my tank always locked after I watched an enemy tank being destroyed that I had previously damaged. If I didn't damage the tank and it died no problem but if I'd damaged the tank and it died on my screen I'd lock.

Weirdness - SO after playing and installing/uninstalling various things I found one perculiarity. My Win7 computer never does this but the Win8.1 does. The Win7 comp has all my normal mods like recticle and stats, white dead tanks, and so on with no problems. The Win 8.1 has various ones (with and without crosshairs, never used any calc's cuz I'm just that good ;), but always stats. Have not checked the Win7 comp so see if anything shows up.

 

In the log, I see a whole pile of errors when the mod goes out but these two are the most common.

I've been having the same issue with all 9.7-compatible versions of the pack (I updated to 4.3.2 today and had the problem twice). Something I've noticed is the issue seems to happen immediately after a tank is destroyed. Every time I've noticed it's been an enemy tank, but I'm not sure this is always the case. I also don't seem to have a _Aslain_logs.zip (I both looked in the game root where I found the attached python.log and searched my entire system). In lieu of that I've attached _Aslains_Installer_CompList.log to show which mods I have installed.

 

Not sure if this will be helpful, but I've also uploaded a replay (http://www.mediafire.com/download/95th75bgzpubtnc/replay_last_battle.wotreplay) that exhibits the problem (at 11:24 remaining). I checked it twice and the bug happened at the same time both times. Hopefully the python.log I'e attached is still useful.

I can reproduce this issue on your replay, without any mods installed, so I guess replay don't help much here, only to see how it looks like in game when it hangs, thats all :( Played few battles on this setup, no issues again.

Several of my clan members are reporting it using solos, omc and aslains. Keep trying to explain you guys all just pack the same mods except xvm configs, entertaining watching folks say oh this guys pack works knowing 95% of the mods are the same :P

 

Was going to include python log but at looking it has over 50k lines..think I need to clean it up and reproduce the error to save someones eyes from bleeding.

FIX YOUR SHIT, how embarrassing putting broken crap out there for people , next time CHECK your mods before releasing it, but then again you are just stealing other peoples work and putting it up unchecked

Every "mod pack" out there is just an installer made for your convenience, don't like it go back to searching 20 russian language sites and install them manually before you slander them for bothering.

THAT is weird... I've had this error occur 3 times and twice it was in a Tier X match where I knocked out a JgPz E100 (first in an E100 then in an IS7).  After the killing the Jag I was locked for the rest of the game.  Now the THIRD time it happened I was in a Tier V game and killed a Pz IVH...

If you are trying to recreate this bug, please try the following: 

Using three people, person 1: drive JPG E100, person 2: yourself driving and watching in sniper mode as person 3: kills JPG E100

 

I hope you are able to recreate the problem like this.

This. If you don't like it, go away. I've always found Aslain to be responsive and his mod pack is hands down the best and easiest to use out there.

I hope you are able to recreate the problem like this.

 

Weren't this tank updated to HD recenlty? Maybe it's related to it's appearance durring the battle.
