still_guns
After trying (and failing) to install the WoWS 0.3.7 mod pack owing to Chrome blocking the download, I eventually managed to get it and ran the file through virustotal. This is the result I got. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/16fba2556416b814624bee9e6e020ab9f34fbf405eff88a842285b78ca561bef/analysis/ Now this could be a false positive, but seeing as both Chrome and Internet Explorer alerted me, I had to find out. So tell me people, have you had malware problems? Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 19, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 19, 2015 Yes, if you search forum you will see it's not only you.... False positive as always. The only malicious app here is CHROME, because it's blocking harmless application. Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted June 19, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 19, 2015 I still wonder why people freak out so much over what Chrome says, and what virustotal says... 1 out of 57.. and it's an unknown name that flags it through heuristics... hehe. Not one of the major brands flag it. :P Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 19, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 19, 2015 Lol what is this Rising ? Never heard of it.... Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted June 19, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 19, 2015 Some random Chinese company that provides a free anti-virus, hehe. http://www.rising-global.com/ Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 19, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 19, 2015 Heuristic method is crap anyway. Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 19, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 19, 2015 Lol cannot even report them it's false positive because they are accepting files up to 30MB..... AWESOME not Quote Link to comment
still_guns
OK, if it's fine, I'll install it Quote Link to comment
MontanaSteel
I'm having the same problem with Chrome, but I'm not sure how to allow the download. All I get is a "Dismiss" button; there is no "allow" option. I've gone under Settings->Advanced and can't find anything there. Help? Quote Link to comment
MontanaSteel
Think I found the answer. Under Settings, choose Advanced Settings, and then under Privacy there is a box checked for 'Enable Phishing and Malware Protection." Uncheck that box, then do a fresh download. It'll still give you a warning, but you now have a "Keep" option that allows you to proceed. Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted June 20, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 20, 2015 The option to restore it, without removing the protection, is pressing Ctrl+J by default, which opens the download manager. In there, you can recover it :) Quote Link to comment

They will typically respond quickly to these sort of easy fixes. Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 21, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 21, 2015 If you give me link where I can report it, could not find anything like that to report files, just something for websites. Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted June 21, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 21, 2015 https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/3258249"Malware and unwanted software" & https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/168328"Request a malware review or unwanted software review" Both of those links should be helpful when it comes to getting them to stop flagging your installer, Aslain B) Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 21, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 21, 2015 I've seen these, this is to report google websites, not external applications Quote Link to comment
Moderator Quaksen Posted June 21, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 21, 2015 Didn't think about that part, hehe. The first link has some information on how to prevent the installer from getting flagged though, things like "silent install" and what not. If they do a site-case and not file-case, then it'll be tough to get them to stop flagging something from mediafire for example. (Yet it doesn't flag from some of the other links.. so it's something related to mediafire in the end, probably, Google being more on their case, if they're used often as malware hosts) Quote Link to comment
Administrator Aslain Posted June 21, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 21, 2015 I have not much of alternative, it has to be downloaded from big hosting sites, nothing else can handle such traffic. Quote Link to comment
