Marks On Gun Extended By Deadhat on Github

This is a Marks Of Excellence mod that Skill4ltu uses, it has the option to show the MoE Marks in Hanger and MoE Marks in TechTree. The part of the mod that I personally use is the one in game where it tracks your progress towards your MoE Marks and you can move it around on your screen. The mod is available to download from github at https://github.com/deadhat. Due to the recent update of WoT to 1.27.0.0 I'm not sure if it's currently compatible with the current version of WoT. If this is currently in the modpack, please let me know. Thank you again.

I dont use it, this mod advertising cheat modpack, with its name. I will not put my users to danger and false accusations. Just use MoE I have in the modpack.

It's an updated version of Spoters MarksOnGunExtended and it's by Oldskool, Oldskool own modpack is on WG ModHub. If this mod advertise cheat modpack, then you may want to remove any and all mods you have in your modpack that are from OldSkool. Besides Skill4ltu uses this same mod and I doubt WG would let one of their Community Representative use a mod that is made from a developer that makes cheat modpacks. I understand you not wanting to risk having your users being falsely accused of cheating, but for you to falsely accuse a mod developer of making a cheat mod, and yet use several mods from said developer is simply wrong.

Oldskool is no longer supporting it, and he doesn't include it in his modpack anymore. It’s likely just a leftover from earlier times. He’s now using Lebwa or Protanki MoE.

 

If you want to use it, that’s up to you, but I won’t add it to the modpack. Sorry. I don’t mind if someone creates cheats; it’s their decision. If they want to make money from it, that’s their choice too. I just don’t want such mods in the modpack ... for the sake of my users.

 

Spoter collaborates with cheat makers and helps them with mods. He’s also the author of some forbidden mods. This mod includes a component used in cheat modpacks (the menu system uses a name from one of them). Please don’t lecture me ... I’ve been doing this for over a decade, and I remember who’s who, what they do, and what they’ve done in the past. 🙂

So Spoter is the one that made cheat modpacks, I feel like such a huge jackass and obviously acted like one as well. For some reason I thought you meant that OldSkool was the one that made cheat modpack. I owe you an huge apology, I am terribly sorry the way I acted and spoke to you. I should have asked for clarification on whom and how the mod was associated with a cheat modpack developer, however I jumped to a irrational conclusion and acted out in a childish manner. If you see fit to ban and delete my account on here, and ban me on discord I'll completely understand. Again I am deeply and terribly sorry for my action and words.

No problem, nothing happened. You just messaged me when I didn’t have time to explain it in detail. Generally, I’ve already explained what Spoter does: he creates both legal and illegal mods. Some of his legal mods are simply illegal mods with certain components or functionalities removed to make them permissible. For example, Spotted Extended Light (allowed) vs. Spotted Extended Full (disallowed).

I’ve always had a lot of Spoter’s mods in my modpack, but of course, only the legal versions. Spoter used a certain "menu" system for his mods. Up until a certain point, this system was no different from the menu used in all popular mods, which is still widely used in other mods to this day. Unfortunately, around 4-5 years ago, Spoter switched to a different type of menu based on another engine that was originally used in cheat modpacks. From that moment on, Spoter updated all his mods to use this new menu engine, even in his legal mods.

Normally, I would have simply updated my modpack to include this new menu engine, but a problem arose: I discovered that this new system, specifically its button in the garage for Spoter’s new mod menu, had the name of a known cheat modpack. To avoid putting users at risk (and to avoid being accused of having illegal mods or running an illegal modpack), I decided not to switch to the new engine. Instead, I continued using Spoter’s old mods that still worked with the previous menu engine until they eventually stopped functioning. At that point, I had to drop some of them, including Spoter’s Marks of Excellence (MoE) mod. For other Spoter mods, some modders helped update them so they could still work without using the cheat modpack menu engine.

The story of OldSkool and Spoter is straightforward. Spoter is the original creator of the MoE Spoter mod, but at some point, OldSkool began assisting him with it. After a few years, OldSkool also abandoned MoE Spoter when he learned about the cheat-based menu system and removed the mod from his OldSkool modpack.

In the meantime, many people, including myself, asked Spoter to change the descriptions and graphics of the new menu system to remove any references to the cheat modpack. However, he refused. I suspect he had some kind of agreement with the creator of that cheat modpack, obligating him to indirectly promote the cheat modpack through legal mods.

I’m not sure if I explained this clearly—it’s a pretty extensive topic, and I don’t have much time to go into great detail. 🙂
