FPS drops, can't figure out why

Had this issue for a while, and I just kinda gave up figuring out what mods are causing me to struggle for good FPS with a high-end PC. Today I tried messing with it again, and adding a few mods nearly cut my FPS in half 🙂

I removed all the new ones except Jimbos crosshair and it's still noticeably worse, also seems like explosions make the FPS drop the most even though I don't have any mods that should mess with that?

Any ideas what mod(s) I need to remove to get smooth FPS?

At least this time, seems to be a CPU related bottleneck actually.

I'll be back next time I can't figure out my own shit lmao

Since it won't let me edit again...

thought I figured it out; don't run minecraft in the background and don't use nVidia to limit the FPS. Game was running great.... and then my 100fps dropped to about 25 again -_-

Still running the full mod list, but it doesn't seem to matter what I remove, same problem? And this time I know it's NOT my CPU being maxed out.

I seem to have the same issue, but I can swear is on the latest version only (I didn't notice in the previous versions).

Seems to trigger when I'm in close proximity to other vehicles and / or when I enable parts of the mod related to OTM / HUD / textures.

I will post the log & clips in the next few days.

It seems to trigger when UI elements like OTM have to draw over other screen space effects like blur from tank husk burning.

It triggers also when in close proximity to enemies or when 2 elements have to be drawn on top of large distance enemies / allies.

And this happens only with 1.29.1, it didn't happen with previous versions.

I have a 7800X3D and a 4080 SUPER.

This drop happens when any of the shadows from the OTM overlaps effects with transparency like smoke and flames...

An option to completely remove accents / shadows from UI elements could help.

I believe I have narrowed it down:

Vehicle Markers (OTM) brings FPS down when they are drawn over smoke / flames or anything with transparency

It seems to be triggered by camera angles and how far away in the world they have to be drawn.

I have attached a new log, pretty similar with my previous one but with no "Vehicle Markers (OTM)" settings. With this one I had zero FPS drops, constant 142 (frame limiter) in 4K.

I've been experiencing the same problem for months and can not figure out why. I will try disable OTM settings. Thank you

Not working. Disable all OTM settings already and still experience frame drops when getting hit/stunned/someone died/killed someone (not 100% of the time) and it was completely random.

I have removed all UI mods, except the distrance marker (separate mod). I know have zero FPS drops.

Unfortunately, I think is a combination of multiple UI mods that draw over each other in the same spot and those draws are not optimized in some way.

It is what it is.
