vhalade Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Hej! Since 3 October, the installer has been unable to connect. It cannot check whether there is a new version available and it cannot download necessary DLC (e.g. contour icons or crosshairs). Error downloading files: mod-name.7z Error sending data: 12157 Older versions (I still had the installer for 1.29) can also no longer check whether there is a newer version available. This worked perfectly with the same installer until 2 October (until then, I still have various DLC files in in the dl_cache directory). I'm running WoT on Linux since more then 1 year and never had troubles using the mod-pack. Now I wonder where the problem comes from: from my side (although I didn't change anything) or on DL-server side. Thank you very much for your great work over so many years! 1 Quote
Krazar Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Hi! I'm experiencing the same exact issue! I'm a Linux user as well. Quote
vhalade Posted October 16, 2025 Author Posted October 16, 2025 sorry, forgot the log-files. here you are: Aslains_WoT_Logs.zip Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted October 16, 2025 Administrator Posted October 16, 2025 Try VPn maybe? Its not the bug in the installer Quote
Amunso Ravani Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I have the same problem, installer can't check for updates and errors when trying to download files Quote
vhalade Posted October 16, 2025 Author Posted October 16, 2025 workaround here: - look for the missing files names in aslains installer log (search for error downloading file, for me around line 700) - manually download the necessary files with your browser (e.g. https://repo.aslain.com/WoT/Armor_Inspector_3.16.1_2.0.1.0.7z ) - save the files in aslain modpack/dl cache - start the installer, click ok for version-check and ignore it. continue as usual. no more errors after this one. - update filenames and download files when new versions come out (you'll know when you see new error messages appear) ------------------------------------------- info @aslain: - i didn't try VPN (i don't know where / at what point). i have access to internet, wot itself runs fine within the same WINE-config/settings, i can check the version in my browser, i can download from repo.aslain.com in my browser. - i tried different dns-server (from my provider, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8) - the result was always the same. Dziękuję za twój wysiłek. (sorry, i don't speak polish) Quote
Solution vhalade Posted October 16, 2025 Author Solution Posted October 16, 2025 update (and solved?): No error message during version check with Aslain's WoT ModPack v2.0.1.0 #03 (dlc's skipped because they were already on the computer) Self-healing powers or the magic hands of Aslain? Quote
Krazar Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 The error message before the installation starts does not show for me neither in the #03 version, however the individual mod errors are still present the same way they are on your screenshots. Forexample Battlehits. Quote
vhalade Posted October 16, 2025 Author Posted October 16, 2025 hmmm. what a pity. Can you handle my workaround? Quote
dalf Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 (edited) Having the exact same issue myself, linux user, VPN changes nothing - issue started the same day. I recently ran the option to delete DL cache and now I've lost a lot more mods sadly. When I look at the log and try to find mods according to the above workaround, I find that I can't find a lot of the mods, the first big example is Aslain's Simple Icons edit: I get it now, I've got it working via the workaround for now. hopefully this will be an issue that goes away in the future by itself :) for anyone feeling stupid like me, you just copy the mod name into the URL above (https://repo.aslain.com/WoT/*) replacing the * with the modname from the log Edited October 18, 2025 by dalf realised my stupidity Quote
