Asking for help from the WG community

I understand my issues have nothing to do with Alain's mods. They happen even in safe mode. However, WG has not been willing or able to solve my issues since 2.0. I have submitted multiple tickets for this issue, which WG has dismissed as an ISP issue, even though they started with my very first battle when 2.0 came out. I am attaching a replay of a game where my turret went into the opposite direction of where I was trying to shoot, while my ping times remained stable and the same as it has for 12 years. Yet this replay shows that I have no control of where my tanks actually tries to shoot.

Please pay attention to the fact that every time I tried to take a shot, my turret moved to a complete different direction

I have about 20 replays I can provide where I shoot at least 10 times, fully aimed in in my Leo PTA, .22 accuracy, as good as I can get. Sitting still, fully aimed in, green dot for penetration, I shoot, my shell gets used up, and nothing happens. No indication that I didn't pen, nothing. Like I never fired the shot. Not even the sound of hitting anything. Dead quiet.  But I'm on reload... proving I shot my gun.

Not to elaborate on the subject, but I have run a lot of diagnostics. I actually spent my entire career debugging stuff. I saved a space shuttle launch with 8 minutes to spare in the early 80's. Yet I can't get this game to work after 2.0.  I have monitored my SDD where I have the game installed. I have tried uninstalling the game and all it's data in %appdata%. No traces of the game at all, full reinstall, problem persists. Tried installing on a different drive. No change. I've monitored my computer, watching literally everything with alerts. And still I can't just aim and hit something.

That's a wild issue, do you have any logs to share? I mean python.log, without mods installed. Maybe connection issues, or game bug?

I’ve sent the logs with my WG ticket, but all they’ve focused on the network, I’ve run with ping plotter, and I have great connection to the Chicago server. I’ve gone as far as deleting the game and installing it on another drive, no change. Everything I do in the game reacts about 3/4 of a second later, sometimes, like the replay, it gets extreme and the gun gets a mind of its own

So, I believe I have found the problem. This is something I've been trying to figure out since the 2.0 release. This is just for fellow geeks at this point.

Turns out, the problem was due to something that happened about 2 months before 2.0 came out. I have a Razer keyboard and mouse, and all the appropriate flashing lights and stuff any retired old man gamer should have.

When I stopped tanking back around July, I started playing an MMO that I like. Good times all around. What I didn't know, was that my Razer software actually got excited that I switched to a different game, and decided my computer should start booting up with their Razer Gaming Services. This thing monitors what games are being played, kinda like a peeping tom. Not a good thing. But it caused no issues for the MMO I was playing. It seemed to like that I was playing it, everyone was happy. I can understand that, I've been tanking since 2013. I can understand the software being happy that I was finally playing something different.

That damn gaming service got very angry when I returned to tanking. It basically just went berserk when I tanked.

TL:DR

I edited the registry, removed the dependency between the Razer keyboard software (Razer Chroma) and the Gaming services, disabled that damn thing, rebooted.

I am back to hitting 95% of my shots, compared to the 10% I've been experiencing since 2.0

Let me know if it happens again. it happened to me and my platoon mate the other day and i dont run Razor anything. I went back to latest update .4 instead of .5 no issues yet. Not sure if i have the logs from that battle or at all but i just assumed since xvm stats werent showing up that it was some xvm tech issue causing crazy turret interaction and zoom being all out of whack. I will also report if issue reoccurs on my end

I also use Razer Chroma and a Rzaer mouse ... i also have the game monitoring service on and have had no such problem. I suspect something else may also be involved ... but hey ... if it works, it works 🙂
