whisper17 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I had v2.0.1.1.14 installed and went to install v2.0.1.1.16. When I go through the first screens of the install I get the error: "You must enter a full path with drive letter...." See screenshot. I use the drop down box with 'browse' and chose C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_NA, but it still fails with the same error. I uninstalled .14 and tried .16 again and get the same error. Since I uninstalled .14 there are no log files. I've installed this mod pack for years and never had to chose the game directory as it has always been the same. Any ideas? Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted November 23, 2025 Administrator Posted November 23, 2025 Which game directory have you selected? Show it on screenshot. From the installer's UI. On this one I see it blank. Quote
whisper17 Posted November 23, 2025 Author Posted November 23, 2025 (edited) It shows as blank when the screen first appears. I downloaded your latest, -17, and get the same blank install directory. See the 3 images. Bottom image. Installer presents a blank "Installer will install Aslain's WOT Modpack into the following folder." Top image. Since there is no directory shown, I click the drop down and "Browse" to the game directory. Middle image. Click "OK" and boom....the error. Administrator Aslain Posted November 24, 2025 Administrator Posted November 24, 2025 Why you had to use "browse" option anyway? You should list of possible WoT installation to select from. Could you show what do you have there? It's not on your screenshots. If it's empty then something on your PC blocked the installer functions, like loading external .dll with this. Check your antivirus, also try to install as admin. Quote
whisper17 Posted November 24, 2025 Author Posted November 24, 2025 1. I had to use the browse option because the field was blank as you can see from the screenshot. 2. I tried installing as admin and got the same empty field as the bottom image above. 3. Compare the the top image above that shows I "browsed" to the WOT install directory with the the screenshot of the actual directory on m C:\ in this reply. They are exactly the same. So the modpack install finds the correct WOT directory when I "browse", but then "the game client was not detected in the specific folder". This is very strange. I will disable antivirus, run disk repair on the C:\ drive, run the install as Admin again and see what happens. Last resort I will uninstall WOT and reinstall it. Quote
Solution whisper17 Posted November 24, 2025 Author Solution Posted November 24, 2025 ALL FIXED!! The problem was that I had accidentally moved Worldoftanks.exe from C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_NA when I created a shortcut to the file. It seems your install app looks for that executable and could not find it. I found another copy of Worldoftanks.exe in C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_NA\win64, copied that file over to C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_NA and everything works just fine. Sorry for bothering you! 1 Quote
