Mod Installer forgets WoWs install directory (CachyOS)

I'm using the Modpack on my CachyOS system and the last version (15.3.0_09) "forgets" the game installation directory and I have to manually set it every time I run the installer. I haven't tested it on my Windows machine yet, I'll do it after work.

Apart from this the Modpack installs correctly.

 

Version 15.3.0_03 does not have this problem, at least I haven't encountered it. Unfortunately I haven't tested the versions between 03 and 09.

 

I can understand, if you are not able/willing to fix every problem on Linux. Just wanted to let you know :)

Linux is not the target platform for this installer, but we can try to fix it if you are willing to assist with that. I prefer more quick form of contact for this, contact me on discord.

 

1. When you run the installer, does the dropdown list appear completely empty, or does it show some text that looks garbled/corrupted?

2. If you click on the dropdown arrow, do you see a list of items to select, or is it just blank?

3. Does the "Browse..." option appear at the bottom of the list, and can you click it?

4. After you manually browse and select the game folder once, does the dropdown show the correct path during that same installer session?

5. Does this problem happen every time you run the installer, or only on the first run after a system reboot?

6. Are you using Wayland or X11? (Some Wine GUI issues are Wayland-specific.)

7. What version of Wine are you using? (wine --version in terminal.)

8. Does the same installer work correctly on a real Windows machine? (To confirm it's Wine-specific.) - skip if you don't have

9. Does your Wine have read access to Z:\home\... when the installer starts? It might be a permissions issue.

10. After manually selecting the folder and clicking Next, then going Back, is the folder still selected?

Could you provide screenshot of the installer window when the dropdown is visible.
