Hello, I have always used AutoAim+ – the mod_autoaim_indicator.
Until now, I only had to replace the file mod_autoaim_indicator.wotmod.
I have a special configuration because I had a stroke.

Now this mod no longer exists; it has been replaced.
I cannot configure the new mod from Aslain – and probably not in the way I need it.

How can I reactivate the old AutoAim+ mod?
I always get the following error message:

Thanks for your reply. Maybe you overlooked it. I had a stroke.

In the old AAI+ I could set the snap‑on to permanent. I cannot use it any other way.

If this is also possible with the new version, please tell me how.

Thanks for the hint.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like the previous version.
In the old AAI+ I could use the AutoAim function even when an enemy was behind a rock or other cover. The snap‑on worked on the enemy’s name, even in normal view.

The new one only works in sniper mode.

I adjusted it years ago together with PJOrion.
But it always worked with the Aslain mod before version 2.3 was installed.

Again, I need your help. Without it, I can no longer play.

Which files from the old AAI+ do I need to copy, and where do I have to put them so that it works again?

No, it works exactly like previous version, and if you slide to 0, it will work infinitely. Behind obstacles it cannot work, it would be cheat. To snap the auto-aim you have to actively highlight the enemy to snap it.

Yes, normally it can’t.
Again, because of my stroke I have reduced reaction speed.
The “snap‑always” option compensated for this to some extent.
And yes, I had to customize it specifically.

Where do I need to place the files so that the old mod works again?

You still want to use old mod, while you can use the current one. Just customize it in garage, move the snapping slider to 0 position.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t help me.
Because of my limitation, I cannot play with it.

I have a special version of mod_autoaim_indicator.wotmod.

Until now, you always copied all the files that were needed for it — with the old mod.
I was able to copy my customized .wotmod file, and the old mod worked as required.

I don’t want you to change anything. I will do that myself, and I have to live with it.

Where do I need to place the files — I have a res and src folder — so that mod_autoaim_indicator.wotmod is recognized again?
Can I somehow add the old mod into custom_mods?

Not to answer for Aslain, but I suspect he's hesitant to tell anyone how to install an illegal mod, even if it's well-intended.

Heya 🙂

I used to use a script that edited the mod_autoaim_indicator.json but on reading this thread, I can see the options are now in-game, which is great. I think I have found a bug with the new options though. I have selected the "Enable AAI+ for wheeled vehicles" box and enabled 5 second time snap, but it does not appear to work. In battle MAG appears but then MAG just disappears when I move the crosshairs over an enemy, and does not autoaim onto the enemy.

Many thanks,

Zoe

Thanks Zoe, you actually found a real bug: the "Enable AAI+ for wheeled vehicles" option was inverted internally, so ticking it did the opposite of what it should. It's fixed in the next update, where ticking it will correctly make AAI+ lock onto enemies on wheeled vehicles.
