How to detect clients

Great Aslain

How does the installation program detect the client?

Because I am certain that I have a game client locally (URL: D: \ 360 Wargaming \ World_of_Warships_CN360), but during installation, it keeps prompting that the client cannot be detected!

It searches blindly in a known predefined locations, otherwise it would take too long if it scan all disks. If you install to a non-standard locations it will not detect. I.e. it look into steam folders or \Games\ etc.

So what should I do if I encounter a situation where there is already a local client program and manually select the folder where the client is located, but still receive a message saying 'unable to detect client'?   🥲

Sometimes it may display this, but mods still works, it's just a label, doesn't have to indicate that something is wrong. I don't have this client installed, so I'm unable to verify it.

But when I was installing the MOD, he kept prompting me with this, which caused me to be unable to install the MOD properly。Just like the picture below:

Launch Aslains_Logs_Archiver.exe in game root, it should collect them. General info in the signature link of my posts.

However, if you were unable to install it, you'll need to manually search for the logs in your Windows user temp folder. They have "setup" in the name.

For example, Setup Log 2026-06-17 #006.txt in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp where is xxx is user name

It's done. It turned out that I deleted all the files in the bin folder, which caused the installation program to be unable to detect the game client properly. I'm really sorry.
