Doesn't Finishing installation

Hi Aslain ,

 

since version v.9.15.1.1.11, I cannot install your modpack. Correctly, Installer doen't finish installation. (See Screenshot.)

I wated on this screen more than six hours...

So I killed the process of installer from Task Mnager. (and "sed.exe" also.)

_Aslain_logs.zip doesn't created. Only create "_Aslains_Installer_CompList.log".

 

Can I do for something about this problem?

Your PC is the cause, most likely antivir.

Okay. I'm using Comodo Internet Security.
I tyr to disable its all security features. (Anti-vir, Auto-Sandbox, HIPS and Firewall)
but The problem didn't solve.

 

until v9.15.1.1.10, the installer was finished completeley and perfectly.
since v9.15.1.1.11, the problem occurs.

I guess it looks like "sed.exe"'s loop running. but I don't know how to work it.

 

Any ideas?

Ok, include all logs, preferably zip.

As I mentioned earlier, _Aslain_logs.zip didn't create. Only create "_Aslains_Installer_CompList.log".

This causes the process of the installer was killed by me with Task Manager because it didn't proceed.

 

How can I do to create the full logs?

Well, this is definitely caused by your computer then. Nothing more I can do for you.

remember   make sure u disable windows defender as this automatically turns on when u disable other virus software , as  windows defender has a major conflict for aslains installer

I use v9.15.1.1.10 for a while.

ok before installing the installer have your task manager opened and look for anything that looks like strange behaviour whilst  installing

The reason why I wrote it is I'm monitoring Task Manager and I see the usage of CPU resource that "sed.exe" used.

BTW, Can you implement "debug-mode" installer? (like outputting the logs sequential operation.)

I know that is irriteted and frastrated task. just a request. Of course You can ignore it!

Or just simply, enable "cancel" button at "Finishing installation" sequence. Amateur's idea.

Hi,

Exactly the same issue happens on my computer. The installation can be finished by force stopping "sed.exe" twice in task manager. But it seems that some mods aren't applied properly. I did select "enemy spotted markers" but it's not appears in the game.
I also have tried v.9.15.1.1.00 (because I don't have v. 01 to 13) and it completes properly!
Any anti virus software disabled, including windows defender.

Any idea?

Check file permissions in res_mods and if you are on admin account, maybe something cannot be accessed and hangs.

v9.15.1.1 build_15 has same problem for me. just a report.

 

I research in my own way.

When I killed the process of the installer, something process handled "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res_mods\configs\xvm\Aslain\sed0IkJRe"

I attached the res_mod folder. If you could take time, please investigate this issue.

I could install the latest modpack without PP config.

 

See screenshot. (It's so big. sorry.)

The installer stops modifing "playersPanel.xc".

So I disable PP config. The installer works fine.

The both config XVM team and Aslain's are causes the problem.

 

If you could some time, Re-investigate PP config's files.

It's your PC doing to you, I cannot do anything about my .exe's that are being used via the installer, are being blocked and hang.

Does "sed.exe" just use for PP config?

If not so, I guess PP config files have some problems.

Because;

1. It is weird to block a specific execute file (sed.exe). Should ANY excute files(patch.exe etc.) blocked by something? Or is it an usual problem?
2. Until "v.9.15.1.1.10", The installer works fine perfectly and completely. You "added few options to XVM's PP section" @ "v9.15.1.1.11".

If so, I re-investigate my PC environment.

 

Anyway, I disable PP config option of the installer for the time being. (Of course, I will try to enable it with the latest installer once.)

Can you provide the latest your XVM config file?

Maybe it has something to do with your windows locale, you are using JP? I remember ASIA guys had some problems with modpack few years ago.

The config files should written with Unicode maybe.

Config files are using UTF-8, i will try without BOM, maybe will make difference for you. In about 30mins I will give you special experimental installer to check if you still have issue.

Unfortunatly, it doen't work.

Without PP configs, it works. (See attached logs.)

 

hmm... I was watching Task Manager, "sed.exe" hangs. "patch.exe" works.

Could you use only "patch.exe" for PP configs?

Indeed, there is small bug in preview, but it's not causing anything extra. Will fix it in v18.

Tested that skins just now, they are installing, and are viisble in battle and in garage without issues to me.

 

Sed is more handy in some situations, I must stick to it unless you can find me similar tool, that supports regex, can find, and replace strings in files and works in all windows.

This sed can use the option "-Wctype=UTF8".

Sure, I will try to sort it out for you. We still don't know why it hangs, I would need to see error message, but these are not being debugged easily.

This one seems to complete installation at a glance.

But PP configs were not enabled. (e.g. HP bar) Looks like default config. (See screenshot)

This sed you provided is bugged, cannot use it.
