ddaniel51 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 When selecting sound/image preview during install the installer window is too tall and the action buttons are off the screen at the bottom. There is a large dead space towards the bottom of the window that if removed might bring the buttons into view. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted November 28, 2016 Administrator Posted November 28, 2016 Tell me what is your exact screen resolution, and if you are scaling icons and stuff on desktop. Attach desktop screenshot with the installer. Quote
ddaniel51 Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 Win 10, 4K 3840 x 2160, text/icons @ 350%. Cropped sides of desktop. Full height of screen. Thank you Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted December 1, 2016 Administrator Posted December 1, 2016 The installer is not supporting scaled icons, make them 100% and you will get buttons back I guess. Quote
MGIMATTY Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 As I was part of the dev cycle that created the scalability of the installer, I can confirm that scaled DPI settings are currently NOT supported by the installer. DPI settings should be 100% and that should fix the issue you're experiencing. The scalability for DPI settings might be implemented at a later time, but for now that's all I can give you to go on. 1 Quote
ddaniel51 Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) Heh, if I set the scale back to 100% on this 24" 4k monitor they are too small for my 70 yr old eyes to read. Set scale to 100% per your instructions. Options window elongated while top and bottom of install window are still cut off. Set back to Win 10 recommended 200%. MGIMATTY Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Odd, that is not supposed to happen. my guess here is that 4k monitors cause a glitch in the calculations for the dimensions. I personally can't confirm the issues as I do not own a 4k monitor. but I'm sure we'll be able to fix this soon. 1 Quote
ddaniel51 Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 No problem for now. 2 Tab keys and an Enter get me where I need to go. BTW it only does this when image preview is selected. Quote
MGIMATTY Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Yes this is known. We've had the issue before on 1080p displays as well. Back then the issue consisted out of a too high DPI setting which caused the preview window to extend the installer's viewport in an unexpected way. Quote
wrecklass Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Sorry to bring this back up, but since I am a new user I didn't want to start a new thread for an old problem. Would it be possible for you to just cut down the size of the window or even better, make the window resizeable! That way we could size it to fit properly on our screen and see those hidden buttons without making the font and icons so small we can't read things. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the great Mod! MGIMATTY Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I think I tried such a solution back then but it became even more glitchy. Things had a way of moving around in such a way, that the installer became an absolute mess and unusable. Could be worth another try though. But Aslain has the final say. Quote
wade_gaskins Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 I have 4k 3840x2160 display and this is how I fix it. 1. Right click the installer and select properties. 2. Click on compatibility. 3. Near the bottom should say. Change high DPI settings (click that). 4. Bottom should say High DPI scaling override. Click that box. 5. In drop down (same area) choose system (enhanced). 6. Run installer. You will see everything as normal Works for me and I really hope it works for you and anyone else having this issue. Happy new year everyone. 1 1 Quote
