  1. Most of the simpler mods work. Just reinstall the current mod pack with the minimal stuff you need. Stay away from stuff like smoke boundaries, training room, etc. Just use simple stuff like crosshairs, damage counter, etc. After the new install create a folder in res mods named 0.5.4.0 and copy the files from the 0.5.3.2 folder into it. Enter the game and make sure there's no weird video effects in the port screen. Then pick a ship you don't care about and run a quick co-op mission to test. Or you can just wait another day, Aslain is pretty good about quickly updating the mods to work with new game versions.
  2. I also really like the mods and don't want to play without them, Aslan does a great job putting all these together. Replays can com in handy for reasons other than reviewing team performance. I had 2 players on my team open fire on me for no apparent reason right as the battle started. Then they tried to claim in chat I fired 1st. I converted the replay to video and uploaded it to Youtube and sent links to the WoWS staff at Wargaming. The teamkillers thought I was in a rival clan. One of them had over 100 complaints against him verified by 4 different clan leaders . I'm pissed that they wouldn't do a permanent ban, they just got 3 day suspension. The one player who was just following orders was decent enough to come onto my clan's Teamspeak server a few days later and apologize to me, he left the other guy's clan. There is a replays website where you can upload your replays, if your client won't play it for you try them out. I have not so don't know just how that site works: http://wowreplays.com/ AirBear
  3. I have a 4K (~3800x2100) monitor and tried playing WoWS at that res and quickly gave up. I can't see the mini-map well enough or read the in game chat (often that's NOT a bad thing!!). The text is just too small, same problem with the mini-map. There is a scalable crosshair in the mod package, an index mark will stay on the target as you zoom in and out. But that crosshair isn't as detailed as I'd like, I'm going back to "Tic-Tac" by Hootorez. If the target is at a 90 degree angle to you, and the time to target says 7 seconds, just align the 7 mark on the crosshair on the ship, adjust if the ship is particularly fast or slow, and fire. This is at max zoom, at less than max it won't work with the same number. That's why I'd love to see a combo of the scalable by W03L0BED and the Tic-Tac. Over time I've learn to adjust when the target isn't at that perfect angle. AirBear
  4. Same experience here, I was looking for targets for my Langly's Torpedio Bombers to practive manual Torp drops on. I started using my own ship until I discoverd the bots, but I was getting high tier Crusiers that nuked my planes long before reaching their target. What you can do is drag the undesirable bot ships off the selection screen. They will be replaced by a random ship, just keep doing that until you get something workable. AirBear
