Wow, that "Type 2" text is a dropdown? Also had no idea. Setting it to Type 1 also resolved this issue for me. Whew!

FYI Having the exact issue as the original poster, I end up with what looks like the Rainbow crosshair in game.

I've tried a full modpack uninstall/reinstall multiple times, multiple different crosshairs, and I've tried both dynamic/static crosshairs in game.

Not sure what's up.
