I see you asking for more donations. You need to know that mods are used by the old players. The OG. And they are leaving. Im about to sell my account too. Its just bad now with subs and hybrids. Randoms has been ruined for a while, but now ranked is too. Assymetric was a bit of fun but that doesnt last.

I just had a game with a Brandenburg AFK for the first 10 min in silver. then he starts randomly autopiloting around the map, avoiding enemy. makes us lose the game.

How did he make it into silver??? will WG ever even give him a warning?

You said AutoSpy mods are not being updated anymore... everyone knows. Once they release Kitakami, its the end times...

I cant find many resources on this, and its quite alarming that in very small print between the cracks users have to read that autospy minimap has a high chance of becoming incompatible. Its such a confusing world, I would like to make my own and run my own.

Also I want to make: a simple mod that highlights the ships with 21 point commanders in the port carousel.

Another mod that allows two different minimap sizes based on weather youre zoomed out/free look or in binocular view. Extra bonus if it also makes the minimap smaller if youre taking fire or shooting yourself.

Appreciate any help/resources

This is awesome support. I think a lot could be made better if you took a native English speaking person aboard and clean up some of those confusing descriptions.

You may have misunderstood the purpose of this option. It does not allow manual dragging of elements using your mouse. Instead, it specifically mentions that if you want to reposition the ship's HP bar, you should install a separate mod for that purpose. This is because it was designed as part of a larger concept: to align the UI elements with their positions (like you see in the the preview window of the installer) and then manually adjust the ship's HP bar location after installing a completely different mod, the Advanced HP bar indicator.

Thanks, the speed control is back where it needs to be. Cant imagine *anyone* ever wanting it hidden behind a their speedboost, but I understand this is not professional software.

I really want my compass back down there too. To call these checkboxes and your app user friendly would be a massive overstatement.

The reason I have movable UI checked was because the description depicted the HP bar to be draggable. I dont know why using that module would then move the speed control to the middle UNDER other UI elements.

Anyway, attached my last problem, hopefully its an easy fix too.

Answering your question: I have no clue how to make such thing, it would also require to make a totally new installer, most likely a custom one like WG did, but hey, they have like an army of devs who could help with that, and I'm just one person. So...

 

If you are willing to find someone paid to make this for you, would you do it? You dont have to code everything. Im in software, I dont make all the components anymore. I subcontract the difficult or one-off types of code (such as adding an auto updater) to an external dev. Just make sure they document their code well.

This could be a feature you announce and make a fundraiser in this community and they would easily cough up the required money, considering how much the wallet warriors spend on pixel boats.

I dont hate it. Im giving you feedback (in case u want more donations). Donation popup is EVERY update. You sound like arrogant developer. Im just asking for an autoupdater, like all softtware in 2022. Better listen to your users rather than insult them if you want their money.

Ive been on this site every day this week. Constant modpack updates, not even because there is a new game version.

It is tiring and annoying. On top of that the advanced minimap stopped working out of the blue and now I have to figure out how to set it up again, proably do the right checkboxes for each and every ship....

And every install run is full of pop ups, reminders that youre doing this for donations, then a back button that is highlighed then a next button.... Not to mention Windows keeps telling me youre a dodgy developer.  Cant u get certified? As a mac user this is the full win 98 SE experience.

If you want donations, make it autoupdate like the modstation. Make it popup free, and WARN me ONLY when mods I have selected stopped working.

I might have to hire a personal assistant with the level of overhead this software causes me.

the modpack config loader loads the file which locks it so it cant be overwritten.

the config loader needs to keep running for the reinstaller to work

at the end of reinstall the inf file is attempted to be written but I cant "cant overwrite because in use" errrors

yes ive quit wows

this is so tedious. make it like modstation and ill gladly donate.

please use your website effectively and in addition to a fan forum ALSO add a few very zsimple YouTube instruction videos. Whenever a developer says "easy' about their own work, I run away. Of course its easy, you made it. Not for someone who just wants to shoot at ships and doesnt know much else about software.

Well, all i have to do is run the installer again and it loads the prev config. Right. The config loader is for configs OTHER than the one thats active. Alll very much expected knowledge and not very clearly explained. I think I understand now, but my point stands. Just add a guided youtube for this. Also why does WOT have a guides section but not WOWS? Anyway, thanks for your years of hard work and dedication to the community. Sorry if my feedback is a bit harsh.

I dont understand why this is so complicated. Why do I have to load an INF file while it is always in the same location? why do i get all these "cant overwrite file in use errors"?

I basically cant ever work from the previous config, im always working from the config when I first installed it.

So i have to rename the Inf file before i reinstall to reconfigure. ModStation is so much simpler.

Not to mention the file is dodgy and not liked by virus scanners AND youre asking for donations while it basically works like a win 95 application.

Please just let us on the fly edit without all these complications.

For those wondering: yes autospy and badobest and some other mods remember their settings even after you uninstall from ModStation to Aslain.

Question for the makers of this: can i just open inf file and edit in text editor?
