  3. oh, good call, didn't think of checking that before! i tried 3 replays: zao game when no skinpack was installed, the zao game with only the skin installed that i entered in safe mode (the same game i attached screenshot from), as well as the training room replay. all replays load fine, but there is no skin showed in any of them. the ship looks default. i verified the skin installed successfully by entering port and seeing zao with the skin correctly applied. i am attaching a screenshot of the game when i had only the skin installed, that i played in safe mode: you can see the current mods are loading fine, but the ship has the default skin. i am also attaching a screenshot from port made right after trying the replay, so no changes to mods installed: skin shows fine. p.s.- for consistency, this was done with modpack #3, not #4 that was just released, but i saw mod wasn't touched upon, so it should still be relevant. please let me know if you want me to redo the tests with #4
  4. ok, update time (sporting patch #3 as well) : i installed only the skin mod, again checked both cleared cache and removal of resmod folder. i'm attaching the log file for this newest attempt. Aslains_WoWs_Logs.zip again, in port everything works fine. the training room loads fine, as can be seen from the screenshots. but the random battle is stuck on the loading screen. it never gets a loading bar, and remains there even after the countdown finishes (random battle loading 3) normally, i can enter battle with about 10-15 seconds to spare, and that's with the full suit of mods installed. shutting the game down and relaunching with safe mode, i managed to get into the ongoing battle just fine. the training room was made right after the battle, i selected the same map. if there's any further info i can provide, pls let me know. p.s.- i cropped the additional loading screens for the random battle a bit, to lower the size a bit p.p.s. - i also have a gearing, but i don't have a captain for it. if you think it's necessary, i'll try to give that ship an attempt as well, though missing the start with a t10dd is pretty bad for live battles. but, if it's "for science", i will make the necessary sacrifice random battle loading:
  5. yeah, in the port it works fine, and the odd things is that i can even start training rooms without any issue, but as soon as i start a random battle, the loading bar is missing and the screen remains at the 2 teams composition from before battle. even closing down the game and restarting the game normally will produce the same result, but if i start in safe mode, then i can enter the battle that's in progress. let me know if there is anything else i can do to help track this issue down. i guess one thing i can do is try it with only the skin mod installed, see if the issue remains
  6. hello, i'm back on reporting duty :D as per title, game works fine with all my mod choices installed except the 2018 april's fools skin. as soon as i install this, at least for zao (the only ship i tried), game remains stuck at map loading. when installed, if i select other ships, i enter battles fine, and i see the modified skins for the other players. pack installation was done with cache clearing and res folder deletion. This happened in the 7.5.1 as well, but i didn't report it as i didn't have the latest pack installed. i attached the log file, i hope it's not an issue since i made the archive while the game was open in safe mode.     Voice mods won't install.

    basically, your banks folder should look like this (you can see the path in the address field, just follow that. yes, my wows folder is b warships, i had it to keep it above other games since it requires tinkering rather often with mods and all that. in order not to delete the other folders i had there (just in case, i prefer backups to deleting stuff, archiving the folders is also a good alternative, since the game won't read from them. so until i made the previous screenshot, my folder looked like this: either option works the same. this allowed me to select arp voices in the game menu, since i have arp ships from the event, and i found that, as WG mentioned in one of their patch notes, this selection overrides special captains voices (such as steven seagal). ofc, i have no ideea if this is a global solution to the issue, but i read about it on several forum posts, and it has worked for me, so i hope it will be effective for you as well.

    one thing that fixed the in game selection for me was to remove (or just archive them, the game won't read archive, so it's the same as if you deleted them, but you get to have a back-up if need be) all folders in res/banks, BUT keep the mods.xml file untouched (in essence, that file should be the only thing in res/banks). give it a shot, perhaps it'll work for you too.

    but they changed the way voices work, so now, supposedly, the selection should override the captain selection, so you shouldn't need it any longer. for example, i have no sound mods installed, i selected an arp voiceover (vanilla unlocked from event), and i hear it even when i have seagal as captain. if you have issues with selecting various vanilla voices, i recommend you go to "res/banks/" and delete or archive the folders you have there, EXCEPT the mod.xml file. that one should remain, i belive. of course, this may be invalid if you use sound mods, although i would recommend you do the abovementioned before installing new sound mods. (i know this because the new path also messed up my arp voices until i did this). hope this'll work for u

    allright, in case anyone else has the same issue as me, this is how i managed to fix it: open res_mods/(version)/cameraConsumer.xml near the end of the file, you will find this sequence: <states> <state> <key>0</key> <zoom>20</zoom> change line <zoom>15</zoom> to <zoom>20</zoom> (for the current version, 0.6.13.1, it's line 896) (it's the first sequence of all the zooms available) don't ask me why 20 works as 15 before, but that's how it is. proof of zoom with the abovementioned modification is attached. hope this helps others like me i assume you can use this method to setup whatever zoom level you desire. happy sailing!

    take ur time, no rush, knowing there's a possible fix on the horizon is quite enough for now btw, completely unrelated, i noticed the modpack takes increasingly long to start once i doubleclick the executable (it's around 30 sec->1 min now). it is something on my end, or it something to be expected? later edit: ok, tested the new release, and the zoom modifiers are still messed up. x25 is identical with vanilla zoom, when it was supposed to be an increased magnification over vanilla. i should have asked, does everyone else have the proper zooms, or the same as me?

  15. hey aslain, if you can, would you please take a look at zeiss' zoom out mod(or throw the author a line)? it works well, however i think he messed up the zoom values or something. up until now i used extreme client x15 (yes, i find the standard zoom a bit much :P), but since the last update, it's an extremely small zoom even for me. i haven't attached logs, since there's not an installer issue, but i have attached screenshots with the pre-update extreme client x15, and screenshots with all the ones post update. you can clearly see the difference if you look at the range numbers. (the extreme client with no magnification number has the description of standard zoom, but you can clearly see it's nowhere near as magnified as vanilla. (though not sure if this is since the patch or was there before)) edit: nevermind, attaching logs as well. not sure how/why, reinstalled the pack without the zeiss mod selected, and the game worked well, until my interface froze. i could still move the ship around, but my camera remained in the same position, the turrets wouldn't turn, and the minimap was partly frozen (ship icons wouldn't move around, but they would change state if killed. caps worked as well. yes, that's my ship next to the island. as you can see, i had half health left. in port, ships wouldn't show up, i couldn't move the camera around, it even wouldn't jump to container ship and i couldn't exit the game even though the menu appeared when pressing the buttons. i doubt it's connected with zeiss, but i can't say for certain. what i can say for certain is that the reinstallation was done with the delete previous mods and delete cache). unfortunately, the logs are not from that reinstallation, i reapplied the zeiss mod before i realised that i should have saved the logs ah well, hope they can still show if anything's wrong.
