  1. I agree, its one of the very most useful mods. Seeing a record of who keeps bl aping you can tell you to make better choices as you know its one guy with a hard on for you not many shooting.

     

    I really miss XVM, Im sorry I do. I think the whole "Elitist thing " wouldnt happen with XVM as the WOWS player base seems more mature. WOT was Epeening long before stats were posted.

     

    And with XVM we could tie together Icons+Earsp/panels+DMglog all the minimap mods and hit log and much more.

    That isnt other language, you didnt download the fonts needed. You need to download his fonts and install them on your machine.

    Because the Icons in this are referenced in many places, it makes it hard to make multiple graphics mods work. XVM created 40+mods together and thats the reason guys are spoiled.

     

    Anyways, its simple really, you can only RUN 1!!! 1 visual type mod that changes any icons at all.

     

    So make your choice wisely.

     

    Really Idont see why this is so hard for many people. If they want these mods to work they can go and merge the xml files its actually easy just a ton of work. You have to list exactly what to load and where to load it from. otherwise game doesnt work

    Try to do it manualy, and copy it to Aslains_DLC_cache then run the installer again and install it without clean dlc folder.

    How large is it supposed to be 25 megs?

     

    I also can get the player panel to show up, but I think it was a conflict with running lights.

     

    This new panel conflicts with more mods because it uses battle elements also now.

     

    Aslain, I would make a note in this ti not share any mods with it for now

    I have the same speed. Normal DSL.

     

    Still you should have a true DL speed of 750 k/b so if you are having huge wait times odds are your internet is cutting out in microbursts. Not enoug to show you, but when computer goes to DL it needs steady packets or the server drops them

     

    Trust me try that tool its easy and works great. THis is also another one I use for peopke i nthe country or with low speeds.

     

    Point is slower internet like ours needs diff settings to be the fasest. So many things like windows 10 are optimized for FO or Cable now. So for instance a huge buffer isnt good if you have a very slow speed as its like a cup that needs to be filled up but has a leak. But if you put a smaller vup it will fill up and drain at the same rate.

    Now you can add that in installer folder or just put in resmods.

     

    Part of the cookl thing about aslains is his ability to find mods and list them and authors. So if you guys have issues like this, search online to DL it elsewhere and match up the sizes etcc

  8. You need to take ownership of the folder

     

    Are you using Windows 7 this was a big problem. Half the time the permissions were screwed up

    The Take Ownership permission on an object or the Restore files and directories user right are the minimum requirements to complete this procedure. Review the details in "Additional considerations" in this topic.

    2. Right-click the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

    In that you select the image. and it auto sizes basically.

     

    Or an easier way is when you export it resize th old part you like, then swap the images.

  10. This is definitely on your end not Aslains. If this happend we would be flooded with tickets saying the DL`s didnt work.

     

    With bad internet new servers that get many requests will prioritize you to the back. Last night was a very busy night on the NET, im wondering if it simply is a shitty connection on top of a lot of hits on the modpack.

     

    All I know is ports are extremely popular as well as voicemods and both I and Aslain tried this combo for you to see and they work fine.

     

    Also guys confuse integrity check with getting a fresh install but many of these mods create settings in cache that can conflict, esp sound mods that preload sounds. Many times guys forget to clear there APPDATA and even after doing integrity check the problems still happen when all it needed was a clense.

     

    Just DL them manually and manually throw them i nRESMODS or as aslain said.

  11. WHEN EVER THE GAME GETS SLOW AND dc`S BACK TO MAIN SCREEN IT IS A TIMOUT ERROR AND 99% IF THESE ARE CAUSED BYpORTS BEING BLOCKED BY OTHER PROGRAMS OR IN THIS CASE THE UPDATER IS COMPETETING WITH YOUR CONNECTION TO GAME AND ONCE YOU HIT A 4 SEC LAG GAME KICKS YOU

  12. Ok I talked to Monstri thanks to Alain.

     

    This is the issue...

    We found this in common with over 15 logs I recieved. This is our issue.

     

    Whats happening is We are using 1 joint "Demo" ID that has a limit per hour. Normally for WOWS Stats each player needs a ID from here.

    So eveyone who wants stats Aslain needs to go make a app id for 5.8 as me and Monstro will have NA`s ironed out by then.

     

    So to everyone who is having issues. IT IS NOT A MOD CONFLICT. It is an inherit problem on NA. I do think I will keep mine the way it is as im going to try to hotfix it before 5.8

     

    I just  want people to know they arent crazy and Aslain did his due diligence above and beyond on this. As we come to expect from this top notch team.

     

    Also guys this Monstro guy is amazing. He really has a wonderful grasp of coding and a very unique way of explaining how to tweak it. We need to encourage him as he will do great things in WOWS.

    I know what the issue is, I just need a way to "Refresh" the stats like the rest of the mod can do, but none of the current events fit.

     

    I saw one PY log and one of the guys OP is throttling his connection because its WG site instead of XVM here i nth US and so its slowing it down and timing out his stats because its hitting 2 WG sites and these ISP`s basically shut one or the other down. But if we had a keystroke to manually refresh tit would work great. And to a guy like him might take 5 minutes and since he is from RU he has no idea of this issue, but guys like me with shitty ATT ISP, we have only everyother game with Stats :(

So since coming here from Roughnecks, I have quickly come to respect the team of guys who I see like Blue and Aslain who are answering questions non stop about either very basic things that are found in descriptions or notes they leave, or I find 15 topics about slightly different [1% diff] problems that really once explained one time should by the community be taught to the others.

     

    Roughnecks was a huge pillar of great minds from both the coding and the super artistic sides of WOT that literally started to entirely on its own make a server of 25k avg population start turning out as many ground breaking and game changing mods as the one with 250k avg population.

     

    It took 3 years to do it, but towards the end the Ruskies who drive this market by 100`s of times, started to copy RN mods and would take the amazingly stunningly perfect art mods Soulza made change 1 color and call it there own on 15 different sites and then make it a premium modpack, basically making 10$ a month of it.

     

    The way we did this was WE, I mean the common guys who used Soulzas sights/DMG panels/Icons, or Maggz overhead reload, or his old very first ever WN8 calculator, We who knew little except we wanted our games to look that way took charge of saving there precious time, by learning and answering the basics they taught us. And as it happened all the sudden a core group 15+ guys became the "Help Team"

     

    These same guys like ATXMAXX and Spotter and Maggz and Soulza as well as good friends like Aslain, Solo and many others started to not just learn from the guys who knew nothing before but didn get there time wasted by having to help everyone on there own.

     

    Imagine what a guy like Aslain can do graphically in 3 hours time. He could create an entirely new HUD style, he could start a sound pack. He could also find many mor modders out there who want to partner with him and create our mods.

     

    TL;DR

    I wanted to start this thread to address some basic topics of WOT/WOWS mods that I keep seeing coming up in the for of bugs or as requests for 2 mods to merge etc. And im oping the guys who dont donate or pay will learn some of these things and help others who are stuck and as the general knowledge level rises it is amazing what will happen.

     

    RN went from a few guys who knew Python to a group of 500 who could do pretty good at reading a Python log and sussing out issues on there own. We had guys who were basic members making entire soundpacks, XVM configs with super advanced ways of not having to load heavy images so it didnt use almost any FPS. I mean very cool stuff.

     

    So when we get a large issue about never mixing 2 mods with Dock.XML, hopefully rather than just accept we cant have both mods some of you might take a chance and merge the 2 and hety guess what, you just made your first mod.

     

    Tmrw I will post about SWF files and how simple they really are and how easy guys like you can create things you didnt even know where possible in 15 minutes.

     

    HUD_Lib.SWF for instance holds every  part of the entire graphics overlay/HUD and can be completely changed in anyway you want. And by learning this you will help newbs knwo not to mix adn match mods that share this HUD [Image] Libray.

     

    And to those who are already good. Help out as much as you can. The rising tide lifts all boats guys :)

    More time saved for Aslain answering dumbass questions, means cooler mods, faster releases and he will do this longer and wont burn out.

    Guys whenever you can use buttons to exit battle, and use Tab key to go to other options and bassically not use your cursor but use keyboard as a workaround the HUD_lib.swf or the HUD library file that contains every warning sign, every ribbon, every part of the compass and makes up THE ENTIRE collection of all the tiny parts that makes the HUD is messed up.

     

    So there was a bad Torp warning mod. It was saved improperly and it forced the image of the cursor 40-120 pixels higher than the actual cursor was. Everyone thought it was some serious issue when in reality a image file got saved into a huge library [think giant scrap book of pictures] in the wrong place and so you thought your mouse was broke when in reality it was not aligned.

     

    Same thing here guys, WHENEVER ANYTHING to do with the HUD goes crazy 9/10 without fail this one major file that 99% of all graphics mods use has been messed with and done wrong.

     

    So first thing to do is see what graphics mods you are running. A new sixth sense logo? Thats the Lib file. A funny SOS icon or a cool new set of ribbons , really it is any icon or picture on the HUD. Here is the example of Ribbons being unpacked in a SWF/Lib file funny enough from Aslain :)

     

    So guys pass this info on and start to learn more about the great modding sytem. It really is a blast. I was a newb 5 years ago and now  can edit almost any type of mod there is, from simple image editing to simple Python to basic C+. But mostly as a community the modders who did WOT and now WOWS have very much kept WG alive and in buisness. As bad as cheating is mods are the only reason a game like these remain at the edge, they simply copy what modders do first. And companies like Gajin who dont allow ANYTHING and hide the way there game works...Well you can see, they are on life support.

     

    Learn the basics so guys like the Aslain and his team can take more time doing meaningful modding, and networking with modders rather than answering the same 5 questions in 100 diff ways every patch.

  16. Guys when this happens what is happening is your cursor is misaligning. People think they cant exit battles unless they hit escape, they can`t type in cha unless they press tab etc.

     

    I ran a test and it is simply the cursor being 40 pixels-120 pixels south of where it is aim at. But ingame the crosshairs take over and force alignment.

     

    IF THESE PROBLEMS HAPPEN AGAIN DO NOT UNINSTALL GAME. OMG everytime I read a person jumping to that right away I cringe, your just slowing down he server for us :)

     

    There is a way to do a sanity check so if your game has files that are corrupted or missing it just replaces those, I will do a post on it later. And if it hangs on the file like the HuD_Lib.swf then delete the current one and it will force DL a new one.

     

    If the problem happens again guys it is the HUD_LIB.SWF and this file contrils ALL THE RIBBONS, and logo`s and signs in game. It also aligns your cursor image.

     

    Please dont freak out and delete client, thats a huge waste of 10 gb`s of perfectly healthy files. This is hwy WG made RES_Mods so you could simply delete it and clear cahce and be done.

    Damage logs is at the end of the game and hp-bars show the hp-ppol of the ships

     

    Damage counter counts ingame not at the end + clock

     

    But will have to live with that:(

     

    Damage logs are live. They are a more indepth version of the DMG counter. They use the same methods.

     

    Session stats is the one that posts what you did after battle

    Think about it guys, most these mods are XVM for tanks and XVM is simply 45 tiny individual mods made in a nice tight pack. These guys if they are seperate authors rip off parts they want but all in all things like Battlestats.xml, or HUD_Lib.swf or anything with XYZElements.xml are all controlling 90% of these mods, But if the icons are not written in then both mods will break because they need the same file but dont have it written in for both.

     

    So this is why Aslain writes notes about conflicts, but he can only forsee so much.

     

    As a general rule guys ANYTHING that moves any part of the hud , will clash with ANYOTHER HUD mod unless they are written together or the author had t in mind to be able to add that in.

     

    So when it comes to mods guys unless you are sure, I would say pick 1 from each category.

     

    Dont try your luck with a Complicated DMG Panel+Stats mod+HP bar mod and then thik its a good idea to add another mod from another author that also effects any of these things.

     

    battle_elementselments.xml literally has to list every single part of what you see on the HUD or in the Port and if it doesnt list it properly that doesnt load. And any mod that uese these visual components needs that XML.

     

    Here is just one line

    It has 600 lines and if one thing was wrong here for instance, the entire camera system as well as chat system would fail.

     

    TBH its a miracle most modcombos dont fail more

  19. I have contacted author for Aslains since I know you guys are busy. He is giving me the work around.

     

    Basically in RU it connects to a specific IP but in the US and elsewhere it is going to WG and simply  getting W/R and Overall EXP and rating them that way. Anyways, im trying to put a function in there so you can press a key and force a data retrieval.

     

    Then if you all still have the issue, it means the WG port is being blocked and we can help you one at a time based on PYC logs.

     

    I have to say @Blue GJ on the tech help with the site, I know its a lot but your great about helping in a timely manner. It will take me a bit to learn the ropes about aslains then I`ll try to help you out  as much as I can. I basically did the same thing at Roughnecks. Half the questions are written in the open and the other half are repeated. I cant tell you how many times we had to explain you needed Fonts for there stuff :) literally 10k times I explained it.

  20. Ok guys, so there is a controller that updates the info fr the stats. For some reason during game loading if we "Miss our window" then the mod doesnt retry to get the stats.

     

    The old stats mod had a button linked to "Refreshing Stats" in case this happened. But im not good enough to make that happen so Im going to add a stipulation that happens very often like everykill the game will check the stats, this way it will keep refreshing. Can anyone see how we can use a keybind for refreshing?

     

    Blue, I do have tons of Badobeast gunmarker errors though. Maybe they are related.
