guys, 'standard sights' OR 'no zoom', is what I'm picking up. Which do you prefer? I prefer 30X zoom, so am doing it with 'standard sights'. No problems so far. If you prefer your sights mod you might instead use 'WoT zoom (X8 max)'. and it might not be 'every sight mod' combined with 'either of the zooms (K vs P)'. It may even be 'with this graphics', or PC config, or whatever. what I'm leaning to is 'with both a sight mod and a zoom mod' there's a problem, on my PC.

I had this occur once too but am mainly looking into 'game crashes to desktop', which testing (not exhaustive by any means) suggests may be a combination of 'some sight mods' and 'zoom mods'. Try running with _either_ 'standard sights' OR 'standard zoom'.

actually, I'd like to put the mod pack installer into d:\aslain (whereas my game runs on C:\games\etc...) and have all related content download to this area. (eg. DLC, options, log, etc...). of course, the res_mods files must go into this folder, it is the 'staging area' I'd like not to be put into the game folder. (location of mod pack installer)\Aslains_Custom_mods (location of mod pack installer)\Aslains_DLC_cache rather than (location of game)\Aslains_Custom_mods (location of game)\Aslains_DLC_cache I might even like to have a thumb drive (or network location) with the installer and DLC on it, so after running the installer once I could then run the installer on a 2nd PC and not need to download the content again, also automatically getting the same options. Thanks for the great mod installer, and thanks for reacting to requests for the 9.7 installer sooner rather than later.

Been getting same m'self but I'm using Melty sights, rather than Harpoon. I have disabled 30X zoom, running standard WoT, after trying both Koshnaranek's and P_MOD's 30X, problem hasn't happened since. EDIT: just found this, http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/2054-two-issues-crashing-mid-game/ and will try standard sites but put back zoom.
