  1. I don't know if this is possible, but I will ask.

Can the Mod selection window be made larger for some of us old guys?

I have tried enlarging the screen ( control + scroll wheel )  but that doesn't work.

Some of the descriptions are hard to read and I wind up squinting at the screen to read what it says.

Just thought I'd ask. If not a simple fix, then don't bother on my account, thanks.

Well, you said it yourself, didn't you?.... you did a fresh install WITHOUT XVM :) The multi row carousel is part of XVM, for example.

Since when does a garage mod have anything to do with XVM? Is this a new development?  I have been using the mod pack without XVM since I started using mods full time. I started installing the pack using the opt out GUI since It was first offered and I have had no problems until the most recent patch.

before selecting gnomefathers gun sounds make sure that the  preview isn't on , (hide description)

once you have selected gnomefathers sound mod select another mod then turn your preview back on

Thank you for the advice, I will try that once I get all the other things sorted out.

  3. I too am having problems with the install.  I just installed ver.20 and went to check off gnomefathers gunsounds the installer crashed.  I restarted the installer and left gun sounds alone. installer ran and I did a fresh install without XVM on a fresh WoT install. A lot of the mods don't work.  Eg. multi row carousel, vertical tech tree, to name a couple.  This has been going on since the newest WoT update.  What am I missing?

  4. I'm not worried about right now, I know there is usually a huge server load after a WoT update.  I was just wondering in general, because my download and install speed is around 900kb to 1.1MB normally.  Sometimes I have to stop the install to do something else.  Just curious, no big deal.  No need to put in extra work or anything else.

  5. Just a thought here.  I know nothing about programming or how mods are built.  OK, that's out of the way.

When we download and install any of Aslain's updates, I for one do a clean install, meaning that it usually takes around 15-20 minutes or so to download and install 350-380MB of info, correct?

Now, sometimes, I have to close the install very near the end, before it's done for various reasons. Later, I now have to start all over again and do the full 15-20 minute install.

My question is, would it be possible to make an applet(?) is that the word?; to pick up where the install was stopped instead of having to start over with the complete install? or a pause button?

I don't know if it's even worth it or is it very difficult or if I'm the only one that has ever mentioned this.

    Your thoughts please?

  6. I have found this to be true in many instances.  My solution?  I use the 6 step, 30x sniper zoom, zoom in let the reticle center then scroll 1 CLICK BACK and let the reticle re-center. Most times it will relocate and you will have no problem with your first shot.

the whole process happens faster than I can relate, so you aren't sitting still for a long period of time...

Try it and see if that helps.  good luck.

  7. True, but with auto-aim engaged, it wouldn't matter about the spike other than squeezing off a shot and missing the sweet spot because he moved back or around .

But, I think what he was asking was about longer range shots during side-scraping for example, or possibly while engaging in peek-a-boom; or waiting patiently for him to crest a ridge or hill to spot for arty.  I've had this happen many times during game play and my platoon mates laughing and asking why I'm shooting  so far to the side of the tank...

  8. Just reading in WoT forums about high ping and missed shots (we've all had this happen)

I'm partially quoting his forum post and I hope I'm not violating anything by doing this.

His idea sounds good but I don't know if it's actually doable.

Is it possible to build a mod similar in function to "safe shot" in that it will not allow a player to shoot if ping spikes are above ~200-300ms?

Is this even possible or would the coding be a virtual nightmare?

    Just a thought.

  9. ok, got it... between the 2 of you I now understand to just keep doing it the way I have...   Thank you both very much.

You both reconfirm why this mod pack is the ONLY thing I will donate real money for, to have the kind of support that you provide.

Again, thank you for your support.

  10. OK, I'm totally computer illiterate for starters; let's get that out of the way.

For example, Mod ver.3.8_92 comes out and I install it;  2 days later there is an update  ver.3.9_92.

With me so far?  What I have been doing is a complete clean install every time there is an update.  Now, I have noticed that there are alternatives to the clean install, but I don't know what they do or how it affects the mod pack; ie. how does a partial install work , what does it do etc.? I'm asking for clarification of the different choices on the 'install options' screen so that I can better understand what is happening when or if I choose a different mod installation option.

If I already have all the mods that I want, but the new update changes XVM colors for example, is there a way to JUST download the new content without overwriting the complete mod pack every time?

An enquiring mind wants to learn... lol

    Thanks for your time.

  11. Since this looks like a problem on my end, perhaps you should close this thread.  I did not know if it was just me or if it was a bug.  Now we know.

Thank you all for your support in this and please know that I think that you folks are great and as long as I play world of tanks I will continue to use your mod pack and support you through donations.

I truly believe you provide the only service that I am prepared to pay real money for and will continue to do so.

Thank you again for your efforts and please keep up the fantastic work, all of you.

  12. I run the installer exactly the same way, both times.  The first time, I get what you see.  I immediately run the install again, and it works fine with the exception of the in game voice and sounds not working, everything else works as advertised :)  but I ALWAYS  have to run it twice to get the full install.

This has been happening since I first started using the mod pack.

  13. Every time there is a new update, I have the same problem. I install the update, but towards the end, normally there is a window that opens to RVT and you fill it in.  so far so good, EXCEPT that every time I do an update, the FIRST time I install, I get the message 'unable to find RVT file' which I close and it continues with the install.

However, instead of the 570 to 600 mb I only get 320 mb installed.

I let the install finish and immediately reinstall the update and all works well including the RVT screen.

This happens EVERY update without fail and has done so since I started using this mod pack.
