I downloaded your res mods folder and placed the contents in my Aslains_Custom_mods folder and the installer extracted everything and installed it correctly into the res_mods folder.

Are you sure you have everything in your Aslains_Custom_mods folder correct?  7z or zip file? etc.  Just checking....

That file you downloaded (Im assuming you mean the mod in this very topic?) Its one of several files I have in my custom mods folder. That exact zip is in there along with 17 other zip archives, all set up exactly the same (XXX.zip>res_mods>0.9.16>...) Unless the function completely changed how it looks at the folder when Aslain changed the function in build 28 that folder has not changed (and again, if I use the old build 27 installer I still have, everything is installed as expected (though before the DLC mods), and I can see the extractor fire up and copy things from the custom mods folder to res_mods). Literally the only thing that changed in this situation is that I went from build 27 to build 31. And its not worked since build 31 came out.

Could you post the logs from the install you did with my mod, I want to compare it with my most recent build 33 log.

Is Avast the only thing you have running?  Any other malware or Windows Defender?  Just a crazy suggestion...try a different browser to download to make sure it is not browser based.

Avast is the only AV running. Tried a download through Edge, same thing, extractor.bat is nowhere to be seen.

I even had turned User Account Control off. The only variable I cant eliminate is Windows 10 itself. And yet, I have a problem believing that would be the issue.

Did you try downloading the installer with anti virus turned off?  Sometimes AV will block stuff on download.  but if it did, it should tell you it blocked something.  I do not have any problems with my AV and the modpack.

    Good luck.

I mean, Avast is usually pretty good about not doing stupid stuff like that, but I gave it another try with a fresh copy downloaded while Avast was completely turned off. And it was the same thing...  not seeing any entries in the log for extractor.bat. None. Its like it does not exist on my system. And yet, if I go back to build 27, it works.

the only difference to now is that the unpacking is being executed at different moment. Maybe check antivir, who knows, maybe it is blocking extractor.bat for some reason.

Ive tried every combination of turning my antivirus off. Ive even gone so far as to uninstall the AV completely and try the install. It just will not execute the custom mods install. Trying with build 27 of the installer (back before you changed when the custom mods are installed), works, and I can even see the extractor.bat in the log myself, but now its just not there. Its like its been yanked from the exe, even if I download a new copy.

Unable to reproduce, your file was unpacked successfuly, and is present in my res_mods.

This is most perplexing then... it will not install anything even with a fresh download of the installer, and with my antivirus disabled. Its like it doesnt even try.

EDIT: Ran a test using build 27 of the installer. Custom mods were installed properly... I really dont understand what is happening with build 32 then...

Sorry for missleading you, I was wrong how it works for entire time then, I will try to fix it.

I mean, until tonight, how you described it was how it appeared to work, so I cant blame you.

Looking at the installer log, it appears that the last two things to extract and install on my install were milkym4n's contour icons and Gnomefather's by Zorgane. Just for due diligence here are the logs.

mods from the custom mod function are being installed as the last ones, so if you have something that is using same files as the modpack, it will be overwritten in the end of installation.

That is not how it is functioning then.

    EDIT:

Heres what my custom mods folder looks like:

    xjhu8Bj.png

The 2 files highlighted are the files that dont appear to be being overwritten.

    The first does this:

    1BFzp41.jpg

It changes the Skorpion G to looked like the regular Skorpion thats also in the files. If you want to see whats included, you can find the zip file here. (It contains 2 images and a script file, in the appropriate folders).

The 2nd contains a copy of the script from the first file, but edited to use the sound effect from Zorgane's version of Gnomefather's sound mod. Other wise it is identical to the script from the first zip. If you need this file for comparison, you can find it here.

However, upon opening the installer, selecting my mods (including Zorgane's version of Gnomefathers), and running a clean install, with my custom mods folder as shown above, I am greeted with this:

    FcDPwJu.jpg

However, I can see that at least part of my mod was installed, because the Skorpion icon (shown in the carousel and vehicle details window) is that of the normal Skorpion. But as you can see the tank has not been changed. Manually installing the script from the 2nd zip file changes the tank back to the normal Skorpion.

So somewhere along the line a file is not being overwritten, or the sound mod is being installed last, or something.

  8. So I love the custom mods feature, but I have a question about how it functions.

Im trying to use Gnomefather's sounds by Zorgane, but because I use some custom model swaps of my own, there is a conflict. In an attempt to be creative, I created a copy of the script I use to change the tank in question and modified it to use the sound effect from the sound mod, and then package it separately to have it installed at the end of installation after the sound mod, and my own remodel were installed, however when I launched the game, I found that the model swap had not worked. So my question is, does the custom mod function not overwrite files previously installed by the installer?

  9. Try to install all consolas from me, you will find them in _fonts_For_Aslains_Modpack folder. Unless you already did that.

I have. I used the download you provided to reinstall it, in addition to using the fonts within the _fonts_For_Aslains_Modpack. I am still having the issue.

This has even persisted through a complete reinstall of the modpack (uninstalled using Add/Remove Programs, then reinstalled, and cleared the DLC and WoT caches).

  10. It's surely font issue, nothing else. When font is missing, blocks and squares are being installed.

    That font is "consolas".

Consolas is installed on my system. I have verified that fact. Multiple times.

Here is the fonts section of the Control Panel with 'Consolas' selected:

Additionally this first started when I was loading into a match. The previous match was fine, and then upon loading into a new match, it was messed up.

  11. Ever since a couple of days ago my XVM stats have been showing boxes instead of actual text. Its even affecting portions of my OTMs (LuckyCrusky's in the installer).

No I know this is usually a font issue, but I have made sure to install all the fonts used by the mod pack (using the standalone font download provided). This has not fixed it, nor has reinstalling the mod pack.

    Logs (if needed):

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14006682/python.log

(Ive also been having (seemingly random) CTD issues, but I cant pin it down, and Im not using the most recent music mod that was causing all the issues).

  12. Would it be possible to get an option in the installer to not mirror the contour icons? I use a custom set of icons by Milkym4n and they do not come with a mirrored version, requiring me to go into the configs and manually change the mirrored option each time I update the mod pack.

    Thanks,

  13. It seem that WG is using same file name for both tanks, this is why you see same tank name on the Knight, probably because it's just painted Cromwell. Icons are generated autormaticaly based on WG info encoded in client, I doubt I can do it what you ask for without manual editing of image file which is a no currently.

The Knight doesnt exist in the PC version of WoT. Its a skin (and Ive also edited the text files to replace the name and description, and made the carousel icon for it), all I'm looking for is a contour icon to replace the Cromwell B one. I was gonna try to edit the contour Icon myself (strictly for personal use), but I dont know the font or text colour to use. I suppose I can give it a shot. Either way, thanks for the reply.

  14. Hello, Aslain.

This is probably an unusual request, as its not something I particularly want added to the modpack, but its a personal request for myself.

I currently use the Countour Icons with Roman Tiers option in the installer. I love them theyre great. But I have a bit of a unique problem:

As you can see, Ive replaced my Cromwell B (my other Cromwell is right there in the carousel along side it) with a Cromwell Knight... however in battles, the contour icon still says Cromwell B. Would it be possible to get a set of contour icons (Ally and Enemy) that says "Knight" instead of "Cromwell B"?

    If not, I completely understand.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
