  1. Um, Yeah, I see what you mean. No update 1.10 = no logon to the game. Looks like I'll probably spend the next few days trying to figure out this Equipment 2.0 "improvement". Thanks for sharing the wisdom.
  2. Is there any way to avoid (temporarily) installing WoT updates? Update 1.10 looks like it will be a whopper, and it will probably take Aslain longer than usual to fix things. In the mean time, I would rather continue to play the current update of WoT with an Aslain's that works, rather than install the WoT update and try to play the game without Aslain's. I think it is technically possible, right? I just go into settings on the WoT GameCenter and turn off anything related to auto-update, auto-download, and the like. Then I ignore the storm of prompts telling me to get with the program. The question is, if I try to avoid taking 1.10, will the server break the game (i.e., in my account), or anything like that?
  3. Thanks so much, Aslain! It works perfectly!
  4. This is not a request for a mod so much as it is a request for help with a mod. I don't have very good eyesight anymore, so I am very happy that Aslain includes gun sights that go up to 60x magnification. The problem is, the list that goes up to 60x takes too long to scroll, as my bad eyesight is coupled with really lousy hand-eye coordination and finger speed. This is not a theoretical issue. For example, just this morning I was blown up on Mannerheim Line because I could not zoom in fast enough to target the little bugger who was shooting at me. I did a lot of research and figured out how to edit the *.json files in the mod pack so that i could pare the list to something quicker to scroll through. (SO I THOUGHT!!!) My efforts at programming are not highly successful, to put it mildly. I spent a couple hours today writing up what I do when I attempt to edit the *.json files, along with the depressing (mostly lack of) results that comes from it. I'm hoping that one of you tech wizards will be able to look at it all, and immediately say "Hey dummy, you neglected to ..." Or perhaps someone knows of a good "*.json for Dummies" web sight? Any and all help will be highly appreciated. Here is what I do when I am trying to edit things on my own. First, I shut down WoT Next, I go into the “C” directory on my laptop and scroll down until I find the following folder C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_NA\mods\configs\pmod In that folder there are three files of interest: _single.json zoomX.json zoomDistance.json I. In the file “_single.json” I make the following changes in the sections on arcade mode and sniper mode (my input in bold) [ARCADE MODE SECTION] // Настраиваемое отдаление в аркадном режиме. // Customizable distancing in arcade mode. "arcadeSmartDistance" : { // true - включить функцию. // true - enable function. "enable" : true, // Использовать готовую настройку // Use predefined values "useForcedSteps" : true, // Готовая настройка шагов // Predefined velue list "forcedSteps": [1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0], [SNIPER MODE SECTION] / Количество шагов в снайперском прицеле и ихняя кратность. // The number of steps in the sniper scope and multiplicity of theirs. "zoomX": { // true - включить модуль. // true - enable the module. "enable": true, // Список значений кратности снайперского режима. // минимальное значение - 0.8, максимальное значение - 60, максимальное количество шагов - 20 // List of multiplicity sniper mode. // minimum value - 0.8, maximum value - 60, maximum number of steps - 20. "zoomXSteps": [8.0, 13.0, 21.0, 34.0, 55.0, 60.0] II. [In the file “zoomDistance.json” I make the following changes to the arcade mode settings: // Настраиваемое отдаление в аркадном режиме. // Customizable distancing in arcade mode. "arcadeSmartDistance" : { // true - включить функцию. // true - enable function. "enable" : true, // Использовать готовую настройку // Use predefined values "useForcedSteps" : true, // Готовая настройка шагов // Predefined velue list "forcedSteps": [1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0], III. In the file “zoomX.json” I make the following changes to the sniper mode settings // Количество шагов в снайперском прицеле и ихняя кратность. // The number of steps in the sniper scope and multiplicity of theirs. { // true - включить модуль. // true - enable the module. "enable": true, // Список значений кратности снайперского режима. // минимальное значение - 0.8, максимальное значение - 60, максимальное количество шагов - 20 // List of multiplicity sniper mode. // minimum value - 0.8, maximum value - 60, maximum number of steps - 20. "zoomXSteps": [8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 60] IV. AFTER MAKING ALL THESE CHANGES, I SAVE THE FILES AND RESTART WoTanks I then go “back to bootcamp” (so that I can see if I accomplished anything without having to play a battle I’m really not into at the time). Results fall into three categories: 1. No effect This is the most common result. I would guess that I get no result at all at least 60% of the time and probably closer to 80% of the time. 2. The changes “take” to some degree and for some (usually limited) length of time. This happens 20-30% of the time, (probably closer to 20%). 3. The changes happen exactly as I was aiming for, and I can scroll seemlessly from Arcade Mode (at 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, and 8x magnification), and one more slight bump of the scroll wheel takes me into Sniper Mode, overlapping the highest Arcade setting, and switching me automatically into Sniper Mode, and moving right up my list: 5x, 8x, 13x, 21x, 34x, 55x, 60x This has happened a few times, but always something messes it up and I have to start all over again.
  5. Hello Aslain, I really think my problem was caused by something in the WoT update, but I wanted to write this up now because I have time today and might not tomorrow. If you are pushed for time -- which I imagine you always are -- please feel free to disregard it for now. I'll bet that your next mod pack update will solve my problem. Thanks for all that you do to make this silly game FUN for us. (: Here is the story, as best I can tell it. This morning the WoT launcher (or whatever it’s called), said there was a new version of WoT and that I should update it, and so I did. After the installation, I fired up WoT and I had no mods whatsoever. 90% of what I use is in your mod pack, and the rest is a few individual bits and pieces. As of the update to WoT, NONE OF THEM WORKS AT ALL. Here are the things I have tried. I am including the stupid things I have done on the theory that the doctor (you) cannot diagnose a patient until he knows all that is going on: the things that are happening to the patient due to the illness and the things (if any) that are happening to the patient because of his own stupidity. Anyway, other than missing all mods the program is working fine. I have played six or eight games with no problems other than missing all the stuff I normally use: lots of mini-map mods, statistical mods, player panels, garage controls, tank carousel, single list of tank attributes (on the right side of the garage), and a bunch of other stuff. What I have tried… 1. I went first to WoT forums to see if anybody else was having a problem. Since you are just one person I figured there would be no need to bother you if somebody else had a fix, or a statement from WG about what was going on. 2. I tried just reinstalling Aslain. Nothing happened. 3. I tried using the LOADINF_for_Aslains_Installer.exe method. Nothing happened. 4. I tried deleting the “mods” and “res_mods” folders, then reinstalling. Again nothing. 5. Finally, I checked your forum to see if there was anything there. Since then I am working on following your advice. So, I ran WG’s “Integrity Check” program – twice, just to be on the safe side. No result. 6. Next, I again reinstalled Aslain’s but now the right way, i.e., checking all four “delete” boxes as you showed in your post just a while ago. Still no response. OK, now, going down your list. After Integrity Check and Reinstalling with deleting comes… 1. description of problem a. program working fine, says need update. b. I update, and all mods are gone. Note that I say ALL mods – the ones from your mod pack and the few others that I use all disappeared. I am convinced the problem comes from WG, but don’t tell them I said that. c. I went through steps one through six with no result d. In between trying different stuff, I have been playing random mode, nothing out of the ordinary. Alternating between VK 30.01 D and KV 220-2. City maps, country maps, mixed… e. No crashes whatsoever 2. Running Aslains_WoT_Logs_Archiver.exe “System cannot find the file specified” – then a bunch more stuff and a zip file. 3. Will now try to collect all the files you listed: Since I am in the U.S., I assume you want the files from “World_of_Tanks_NA\”, right? (I don’t have the others.) a. python.log <<check>> b. xvm.log <<not in the folder World_of_Tanks_NA>> c. all others are ok, and I will attach the zip file as well, even though it seems to be missing stuff. 4. I just now ran WoT Mods Cleaner app and will try installing one stand-alone mod. (LegionLost ZF20E version). 5. Installed that mod. Played one battle. Everything fine with game itself, but no mods, newly installed or otherwise. _Aslains_Installer.log _Aslains_Installer_CompList.log _Aslains_Installer_Options.inf Aslains_WoT_Logs.zip Backup of Hello Aslain.wbk Hello Aslain.docx python.log
