is it possible to not put the mod pack installer files into the game folder?

actually, I'd like to put the mod pack installer into d:\aslain (whereas my game runs on C:\games\etc...) and have all related content download to this area. (eg. DLC, options, log, etc...).

 

of course, the res_mods files must go into this folder, it is the 'staging area' I'd like not to be put into the game folder.

 

(location of mod pack installer)\Aslains_Custom_mods

(location of mod pack installer)\Aslains_DLC_cache

rather than

(location of game)\Aslains_Custom_mods

(location of game)\Aslains_DLC_cache

 

I might even like to have a thumb drive (or network location) with the installer and DLC on it, so after running the installer once I could then run the installer on a 2nd PC and not need to download the content again, also automatically getting the same options.
