  1. Aslain knows about it and tried to hotfix it earlier today. Looks like it failed though and he has to wait for working versions. So avoid using them for now and check for updates if you can't live without it.
  2. Aslain himself isn't a modder in the first place (meaning he doesn't create the mods but simply collects good/working ones and simply adjusts them, if needed). So, I'm not sure if he will actually work on that. That being said, maybe the community can help or track down someone who works on that.
  3. I used to have this issue as well but it changed a while back and I haven't had this in maybe a month or so. Not sure what changed either, I was always assuming that one of the mods was responsible for this, still using files for w/e reason and preventing WoT from shutting down as you exit. I barely ever change mods either, mostly only to check some new ones out but then I mostly go back to what I've always used. So I really don't know, but I'm glad to not have to close it manually anymore. =3 E: I got the issue again recently, so I suppose it's more likely to get it, the longer you play. I used to only play very few battles for a while but played quite a bit more battles recently. RAM get's more and more of an issue too, the longer I play, so that's probably linked to the issue as well. I only have 3.2GB (4GB actually but 32bit Vista), which doesn't help much, especially if you're running chrome with multiple sandboxed tabs while playing WoT.
  4. Hm, not sure why that is, tbh. It worked for me since I signed up here. Might have to ask Aslain then, as he is the Admin.
  5. Hehe, no worries. I also have had pretty bad stats until I hit like 3.5k-4k games. Then they slowly went up from orange to yellow and I'm still working on improving them but it sometimes just takes time (I've learned very slowly how to play and still play very silly at times).
  6. When you run the installer and come to the stage where the mods are shown, you hit the "show descriptions"-button on the bottom of the installer. If you then click on a mod (such as the 6-/9-color scales) you will get images of that mod. You then can click on said images, in order to enhance them and see them better. In your case, 0-314 = deep red, 315-759 = orange. The rest you can check yourself, I guess.
  7. Certain sites offer those signatures. For me, I use http://wotlabs.net/ On there, you pick your server (NA, EU, Asia, KR, RU), enter your name in the search field and click on "tanker". After that, your stats will be displayed and a little bit down the site, there is an option to display a "forum signature image" with a background of your choice (black in my case). Below that there is a link, which will be used to display it in fora (such as this), once you edit your profile here and add said link to the "signature" section.
  8. Maybe he uploaded the wrong screenshot? If you check out the video on youtube, the video shows a vanilla client, no mods.
  9. =) Which is a good thing, kinda. Still sucks for downloads but it's a great thing that "some random dude" with knowledge and a desire to improve the gaming-experience (for himself and many others) get's so popular with it. No doubt about it that his efforts were incredible but his fans gave him the chance to become big as well. I'm just glad that so many ppl appreciate his work, even if there are still the odd haters. Good things deserve to be praised. =)
  10. Thanks for digging that up, it's what I was refering to. However, it's under construction atm and is about to change with future updates.
  11. Yea, that's what I'd expect as well. A lot of stuff is either eyeballing (distances) or diverted in a way (having a hill between you and the other guy, so view-ports wont work as intended and such). There's probably a lot of "close calls" where you aren't quite sure but you always should try to explain things.
  12. Somtimes it's really weird and you can never tell if something is glitched or not. Looking at what info we currently have though, it's pretty unlikely that you can actually come as close as 10m to ppl and not see them. That being said, I had some pretty awkward games already, where I was in like an Elc AMX, sitting in a bush and not be spotted by someone driving right next to me (felt like around like 10-20m). I also didn't have have a single 100% skill though, so idk if I actually got spotted or not. The only thing I know is, that I've been spotting 2-3 base campers prior to that (from the same location) and if I could see them before, they should have seen me too, if I was spotted. Maybe I was spotted and they just didn't shoot, who knows. I don't have the facts from every player. But that also brings us to the topic of eyeballing/thinking what we see. Unless you know for sure, there are only the facts you can look at. Everything else is merely an impression or might be a glitch in the game, or a fact that has been overlooked.
  13. Or we just need to use alien technology, which let's you have everything on the internet immediately and for free. =o Unicorn-servers, maintenanced by elves, that have a pot full of gold at every end of the download. =3
  14. Do you use latest version of the mod? We figured that the mod "wide border on maps" causes black ground and it was removed in the latest version, because of that. So please check again if you have this mod installed and newest version of the installer. If needed, choose "delete DLC content" in the installer or delete "wider border" mod from that location and don't use it. I hope this helps and for reference can read up here: http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/107-dark-ground-on-some-maps/
  15. It used to be once a week for xvm stats but I think it's a bit more frequent now (at least it feels like it). I don't play every day, so correct me if it's still once a week.
  16. Can just re-run the installer and always do clean install. It's nice because it always saves your previous selections, so you can just add/remove things quickly and the installer automatically cleans up the old stuff in "res_mods". I think I've uninstalled the modpack like once and all other times just ran the installer and used that to clean up the game directory.
  17. Have you looked at this http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/71-clock-in-hangar-battle-angles-24/ yet, Aslain? If it works, could think about using that, also as an alternative.
  18. Yea, have to take the time of the day into account, it's evening on a friday in the EU and early friday afternoon in the US. It's prime-time for downloading, since every last person came from school/work/friends and wants to kirr tanks!
  19. So I went to http://www.wotinfo.net/ used "camo values calculator" and put in basic Lowe, without any equipement/crew skills in there and here is what I got, if the hellcat had a good crew and camo-increasing stuff: Now, this is not very realistic for all your games but you can see that it's very possible to have crazy camo, depending on what's on the tank (gear, crew, consumables). One also has to keep in mind, that actually only seeing the enemy when they are 13.8m away is somewhat negated by the fact that enemies are proxi-spotted when in 50m range. I'm not sure though, if the 50m thing is immediately or undergoes an equal checking-interval, as the normal spotting via view-ports (a check every 0.5-2s, depending on the range, iirc). If it's delayed and you take your own speed into account, you can probably achieve getting ~45-40m (35 km/h / 3.6 = 9.7 m/s; so you travel 9.7m in 1s and 4.9m in 0.5s) close to the enemy without spotting them. With all that being said, one also has to take into account, that eyeballing distances can be tricky as well - aka. 50m can seem closer (like 10m) than they actually are.
  20. Well, it's not like it's a very important mod though. I really like it but I also can live without it for now. It'll return once the author - or someone else - fixes it, I'm sure. Guess you can let him know about it, so he can start looking into the issue maybe.
  21. http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/82-92-removed-mods/#entry698 Post #21, like that? =P
  22. I've encountered an issue where the ground appears to be unusually dark and found that it's cause by "wide border on maps". For me that only happened on 2 maps, Kharkov and Sacred Valley but I've seen similar reports about black ground on maps and don't know if it's related (but I would think so). Additional info regarding the options: - wide, intensive and grid produce dark ground - extra grid tries to download but can't connect (so couldn't test) - command downloads and also causes dark ground Screenshots with mod: Screenshot without mod: Logs: Almace.zip
  23. So, I still don't know what language you actually want to change.. A little bit more information would be nice, since I can't read minds. If it's the ingame language you can usually do that before initializing the game to load, in the first window when you start WoT. In the upper part there is a little flag, where you can change languages. If a mod has modified your game language and the flag is in English but the game is in Russian now, that can be caused by a mod. I only know of one atm, which is "chat mods" > "colored messages by yasenkrasen". This, however, currently changes your client language to English (I've checked if it might change it to Russian but it doesn't). In any case, if a mod did it, you can check if there is a folder "res_mods" > "0.9.2" > "text". That indicates, that a mod uses a certain set of language files and can be deleted, if you want your original client-language back. By doing this though, the mod which created this folder/those files will stop working.
  24. Of the client/battle-chat? Did you install any other mods, outside the ones in this pack? If so, which kind?
