  1. Well, you have to stick with the situation at hand though.. Spotting at the bridge would be borderline pointless with snipers like presented in the pix. They wouldn't have a shot at anything you'd spot from the bridge and you wouldn't spot anything they'd actually have a shot at. How I see it, if you advanced and spotted at the A/B-line, you would have had 4 snipers in your back - so what's not to like about that? If you get shot at, that doesn't mean you're automatically dead (granted, you get fire support by those 4 snipers). Quite the opposite, the ones pushing wouldn't come around as quickly, if they'd see their friends getting raped by t57 and Leo 1.
  2. Yea, kinda my point. But even so, if you have some ppl camping in that position, you can at least try to feed them kills. Just sitting there and waiting for everyone to get spotted and shot is like the dumbest thing you can do, imo. If you go down, least do so by trying.
  3. Hehe, I believe it's like ADD but I never got tested. xD Still, annoying for reading books in particular, it'd be more fun otherwise.
  4. Yea, I'm lazy and not particularly talented with instruments. I do like reading books at times but I have the problem that my thoughts wander around too much... So I end up having to re-read entire pages a lot. So that's not much fun. =3
  5. Idk how they got into this situation in the first place. If they camped up there (all of them) the whole game, then they simply had it coming anyway. Also, idk about which team had what scouts to their disposal, so it's moot to take that into consideration. From what is displayed in the pix, the Centurion would be the most likely spotter in my book and he could have at least tried. There is a small bush around A/B-4 too and you can knock down a tree also, iirc, in order to get some more camo. He coulda gone there or driven to A-1 early too. How much help he would have gotten: idk! But I know that if I were a TD or top tier, I certainly wouldn't advance if I had a tier 8 medium that could spot for me. If I see him camping with the rest of the TDs, then that's exactly what I'd do as well. I'm not spotting for a tier 8 wanna be sniper. That would be my opinion though. Obviously, there are several solutions to how to play and I just think that they have gotten themselves into a mess by what they did (or didn't do) before the pix were taken. Once you are in a mess, it's hard to dig yourself out of it anyhow.
  6. I think that they let the situation get bad in the first place. Obviously, not much of a point to try to spot if the enemy has advanced this much already. The thing I'm argueing though, is that the Centurion should have been spotting from downhill before the enemy got to where the pix show. Centurion has almost the same viewrange as the Leo 1 (if Leo 1 isn't using vents and optics instead) with optics and situational awareness at least and only slightly worse camo rating (depending on crew and equipement). It's all situational anyway and idk how it got to that point in the first place but from what I see, the centurion made a missplay and camped with the snipers, instead of trying to be more useful in aspects the others can't be. You could argue that the Leo could have tried to spot instead but he has even weaker armor than the tier 8, so that'd just be a waste of the perfectly good sniper.
  7. >.> That sounds too sweet to be true *nerdgasms*! Downloading right now and giving it a whirl. E: Holy f****** sh** man, this is absolutely what I expected and it seems to work perfectly as well. Thx so much for this, it makes the customization (after installing the pack) so much easier and faster, since it's now automated as well! It's an amazing addition! You'd get all my +1s, if I didn't use mine for the day already. =3 No more editing 3 files and changing the 6th sense sound files after each installation; least until I want to change them for w/e reason.
  8. That's exactly what I hoped to hear. So the above-mentioned files should work out (in terms of directories), right?
  9. Shouldn't 675MB be the most possible with a 3Mbit line in 30mins? o_O On a different note: I read the updates are being decreased in size (more like 2GB, instead of the 7-8GB). Did that apply to 9.2 already?
  10. Could you elaborate the new custom mod installation somewhere/here? Like, how would you setup 6th sense sound or just script mods (playerspanel for example), if that's even possible? Personally, I would think that the installer automatically uses WoT directory, so would I create a .zip with like: name: "mod1.zip" directories inside the zip: "res\audio\" and have the 6th sense files in there? And as for scripts, would it work if you put your changed playerspanel.xc into like this: name: "mod2.zip" directories: "res_mods\xvm\configs\Aslain\playerspanel.xc" I'm a bit hesitant to just try it out and I guess it would help others as well, to see what you can actually do with this. E: Ultimately just put both (and 2 more files) into one "mod1.zip", for efficiency, instead of having 1 .zip for each modification. If anyone cares about it.
  11. I don't really get this. Obviously, they are in a bad situation there but it's the centurion's(?) fault in the first place, for not spotting anything for his team and trying to snipe 10s head-on with a tier 8 tank instead. The only thing he's right about though: without a spotter, the top tiers should have pulled back more and used the lazy centurion to spot what's coming up the hill, imo.
  12. I'll be honest, I haven't looked into how to realize your request, since I find it completely unnessessary. If you want to listen to music while playing, there are tons of possibilities to just make your playlists with winamp, spotify or w/e software out there. Then just tweak your ingame- and player-volume and you're done. There is no need to mess with the game files at all, imho.
  13. I usually like to sit/eat a restaurant (outdoors at times) with wifi, listen to music, while playing WoT (which can also be considered a sport) and talking to my friends. More often than not, I play songs, that I listen to, with a foot drum set, for ppl to give me some extra money and read a book when there is downtime in the game or just watch the TV in the beackground, in order to relax the hell out of my day. =P All kidding aside though, most of us probably combine a lot of things (mostly doing some of the stuff with friends/family and have music/TV/browser running in the background). Least favorite are prolly reading a book, playing an instrument and eating at a restaurant. Rather read forums/blogs and eat home (also cheaper =3 ). My favorites would be: 1) Music + browsing the web (should be an option) = relaxing 2) WoT + music + friends (which is mostly not relaxing but can be very fun)
  14. Wish more ppl would get some of those basic concepts and thx for bringing some of this stuff here too. Alone the roles each class "should" play on the battlefield is often crucial. I mean, you can still win a fair amount of games if most tanks are completely misplaced but it just hurts the team more often than not. If you only look at heavies, which should put their armor to use and absorb shots and also just use so called "show of force" or brawl (basically, just be present some place and hinder the enemy from advancing, just by being in a certain location). Always makes my teeth grind, when I then see heavies camping somewhere in the back and let at least half their team die in the process. E: A bit exaggerated but this funny moment illustrates "show of force" too at 2:37-3:02. xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfNOYugenoo (if you can't watch it, try out "stealthy" plugin for chrome) Also, regarding "If you have no place to cover your tank after a shot, try wiggling your tank side to side and forwards and back while reloading", this reminds me of one of Woras' vids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlKUYMlxSVo&list=UUDRPAE1JrdY3sXBHQqxvOeg 3:38-3:56 Some of this stuff is just genius, imo.
  15. I understand your pain. But you also have to realize that you made your pack into something really amazing by adding different languages and giving at least 2 options to most mods. You still are it's creator and have to pick what's worth it and what's not but, so far, I can only compliment you for still standing your ground and pleasing a lot of ppl at the same time. Just keep on doing your thing, man. You have a huge platform now and you can listen to ppl's suggestions but you don't have to realize everything. Folks who use your pack love your work for what it is and not for how you try to please everyone. If something is good, it get's in; if something sucks/causes issues, it get's kicked. For everything else there are work-arounds or other mods maybe. Nothing some talk can't fix. You're doing a good job.
  16. By now, I'm like drunk, so excuse me being mostly ignorant. First off, it's zoom-in, opposed to zoom-out. Other mods don't really matter much, everyone has a choise to pick what they prefer and Aslain's pack is way more popular than most others. That's not without a reason, it's really awesome. That being said, it may not have everything that you need/want and you can certainly choose other stuff additionally as well; no1 will hurt you for your opinion/needs. On topic though, there are 2 options that I know off, how you can adjust your scroll-stuff. 1st being: WoT > res_mods > 9.0.1 > gui > zoomx.xml. Where you can usually pick your zoom steps as you wish. Can use fewer steps (to make it faster) or more steps (to make it more precise). 2nd being: Some option in the installer, to increase scroll speed. Too lazy to check it's name right now tbh and you can also adjust that via .xml, iirc. So, there shouldn't really be a need for extra software/mods. Just need some info on how to tweek Aslain's to your own liking/perfection.
  17. Sounds are kinda meh, imho. Really specific, if you ask me. There are still tons of 6th sense sounds out there, that are working for a long time already and are of decent quality. Personal stuff (that isn't popular much) should be added after each installation by the user. Otherwise we'll have to spend like an hour with the installer, some time in the future, only to pick our 6th sense sounds. If it's really good and a classic, it's different. But those really aren't that special and the effort to install manually isn't too much either. My routine is always: run installer > replace 6th sense sound > start notepad++ and change safeshot duration, hitlog position and playerspanel layout. All is done in about 30 secs or so, after installer finishes. It can be annoying, if you try out a lot of mods but you can't really expect to have all your personal options/opinions considered in the installer.
  18. I don't understand log-speak, so idk if there were any issues during installation but might be a simple matter of admin rights that prevent things from being installed using the .exe? Could give right-click > run as Admin a shot perhaps.
  19. Least most mods should be working by then, since other servers hit first. =3
  20. Also, deleting everything in "aslains_downloaded_files" might already help you out; in case there is old content in there, that is being used for current installation.
  21. Should also be YasenKrasen chat mod (colored messages) responsible for this. I could replicate the issue on german client with it. Might have to revise that mod, since it causes problems with the ingame labels (also see marks of excellence). E (copy and paste from the other thread, as they are caused by the same mod; for me anyway): Just stating the findings again for OP. So this issue is caused by german version of the colored chat mod. Other languages seem to work as intended, so I'm not sure if anyone other than the original developer will look into this. E2: Also, the mod in question changes your client language. If you intend to use a 100% working language, you'll also change your client language as a result. So either don't use it, if this bug bothers you or use english language maybe, if you can handle it.
  22. Was actually YasenKrasen colored chat and not session stats. E: Just stating the findings again for OP. So this issue is caused by german version of the colored chat mod. 23. Aslain said it, pretty crafty, I like it too.
  24. There's really not much to it and I'm definitely no computer-genius either. I basically just play around with stuff until I get the results I want. xD I appreciate the thx though and am glad that it was what you've been requesting.
