What should I do when the cursor appears in game ? thanks in advance for your most gracious assistance

You mean when you press L.CTRL? You can do various things with this cursor, like to click on the minimap, drag certain mods on the screen, or just click on UI elements.

 

If you see the cursor without pressing anything, it means the game hanged up in some way. Add logs if this is the case. See my signature.
