rustyJunk Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I've been using Aslains for a month or two and noticed that the process of installing the package took longer with each patch, to the point of taking what feels like 10x as long as the initial install. (not that nothing else on the computer feels slower, only the Aslains install process) Is this normal? Is there a way to return it to its initial speed? Quote
sidney Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 mine keeps saying download failed/error Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 29, 2020 Administrator Posted September 29, 2020 Depends at which moment it's being slowed down. Quote

Administrator Aslain Posted September 29, 2020 Administrator Posted September 29, 2020 Show me it on screenshot, there is many steps. It's probably durring the downloading of some mods right? I'm curious which ones, because I have moved all files that are over 200MB to a slow server, to reduce the stress on the main server with smaller files. Maybe this is where you may encounter a slower download. Quote
rustyJunk Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 will do, and will time it to get precise measurements. Probably tonight when I have some free time. 1 Quote

Administrator Aslain Posted September 30, 2020 Administrator Posted September 30, 2020 ok it's normal thing then, you are installing a clan icons mod, that contains hundreds of thousands of small files, unpacking such a 7z file takes a long time. Quote
rustyJunk Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Is it possible to get just the clan name instead of the icons perhaps? Worst case I'll just disable the clan icons, as I don't really rely much on them. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 30, 2020 Administrator Posted September 30, 2020 Clan names are already there, take a look at various panels from XVM. Quote
rustyJunk Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Cool beans. Bye bye icons :) Quote
