Anyone else getting this ( I'm using Norton) .

This is preventing the dowmload of Aslain's mod pack

Two posts below yours, there was this thread. Have a read, and it was reported to Norton already, they supposedly fixed it, maybe your Norton is just outdated.

Error says : Unable to execute file in the temporary directory .  Setup aborted.  Error 5:  Access denied. 

 

It never used to do this.  It is horrible to play without these mods.  I am sure it has to be on my end but I have no clue.  I have restarted pc but no change.

I contacted Norton about this issue.  Unbelievably, they worked with me and were VERY responsive!  Here is a link to the thread for anyone who wants to know what I reported and what they responded with.

Long story short...

They scanned the file and checked other sources and nothing came back.  Then they, get this, updated their software and included it to their live update. They instructed me to 

1. run live update manually
2. run a quick scan
3. run live update again
4. download a fresh version of Aslain's mod pack
5. load it...

It worked!!!!!

 

I never expected this kind of service from any big company.  Kuddos to Aslain as he is still the KING!!!!!  Nothing nefarious to report!

 

 

I did it exaclty as written, but the problem is still there.
