Camera and UI kept freezing in game

hiya!  I just did a default install of 12.2.0 modpack.  Three times in one game, the camera got stuck in one place in space as my boat sailed away.  The boat controls still sorta worked but I couldn't aim or anything.  I killed and restarted and got it working but it would freeze quickly. 

 

Anyone else seen that?

I've heard about it, happens sometimes, this time it might be due to some mods in the modpack being out of date maybe, or game bug, no idea totally.

This happened to me twice (only driving Aquila for some reason) but it does not happen when I play in safe mode (zero mods).

A follow up!

 

Just 2 hours after I posted this, my machine stopped booting due to blue screen of death, due to the GPU (RTX3060 went out to lunch).  So now, I wonder if the GPU going dead was causing a weird hiccup with the game and it had nothing to do with the last WoWS update or the mods.  The laptop was opened earlier to replace a dying fan, so I would guess some mechanical damage.

 

Since the machine is dead/wiped, I won't be able to gather any logs or anything.  🙂 Hopefully false alarm?  It was really bad though when I couldn't finish a game (driving the Hatsuharu DD).
