This guide explains how to move your Aslain's WoWs Modpack setup (the mods you selected) to another computer, or how to back it up and bring it back on the same PC.

There are three ways to do it. If you are not sure which one to pick, use Presets - it is the easiest and works on any computer.

Method 1  -  Presets

A preset is a small file that remembers every mod you picked. You can save it, copy it anywhere, and load it back with one click.

Saving your setup

  • Open the installer and go to the mod selection page.
  • Click 💾 and give your preset a name.
  • That's it - your choices are saved.

Loading it on another computer

  • Copy your preset file to the other PC (it is tiny, so USB stick, e-mail or cloud all work).
  • Open the installer there and go to the mod selection page.
  • Click , pick your preset file - all your mods are selected again.
  • Continue the installation as usual.

The buttons explained

  • 💾   saves your current choices as a new preset
  • 🔄   updates the selected preset with your current choices
  •   loads a preset from anywhere on your disk
  •   deletes the selected preset (it asks first)

The dropdown at the top lists all your saved presets - just pick one to instantly restore those mods. Hover over a preset to see when it was saved and which installer version made it.

Your presets are kept here:

 Documents\Aslain_Modpack_Presets\Warships\

It is well worth making your own presets. If the modpack ever gets uninstalled or something goes wrong, a preset brings your whole setup back in seconds instead of picking every mod again from scratch. Presets also keep working after modpack updates, as long as the mods inside them were not renamed.

Method 2  -  Settings file (.reg)

This copies your last installed setup exactly, without opening the installer first.

On the old computer

  • Open the exported settings folder, for example:
     C:\Games\World_of_Warships_EU\Aslain_Modpack\Exported_settings
(your path may differ depending on where the game is installed)
  • Find the file  Aslains_WoWs_Modpack_Exported_Settings.reg
(it is created automatically after every install and always holds your last setup)
  • Copy it to the new computer.

On the new computer

  • Close World of Warships and the installer if they are open.
  • Run the  .reg  file as administrator.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Open the installer - your mods should already be selected.

The same folder also contains Aslains_WoWs_Modpack_Exported_Settings_Previous.reg, which keeps your previous setup, in case you overwrote your choices while trying out different mods.

Method 3  -  Command line (.inf)

For advanced users who prefer the command line.

On the old computer

  • Open Command Prompt in the folder with the installer.
  • Run (use your own installer file name):
     Aslains_WoWs_Modpack_Installer_v.15.4.0_11.exe /SAVEINF=filename.inf
  • This creates filename.inf. Copy it to the new computer.

On the new computer

  • Close World of Warships.
  • Open Command Prompt in the installer folder and run:
     Aslains_WoWs_Modpack_Installer_v.15.4.0_11.exe /LOADINF=filename.inf
  • The installer opens with your mods already selected.

Good to know
  • These methods move your mod choices, not the mod files themselves - the installer downloads everything on the new computer.
  • You can keep as many presets as you like (for example one light setup and one full setup) and switch between them anytime.
  • Always close the game before importing settings.
