Game freezes randomly every 10-20 games

I'll be in game, nothing unusual or consistent happens, and the game just instantly freezes up.  Lose sound instantly and picture completely frozen.  Can't even alt tab out.  Need to control alt delete and sign off to get out of game.  It's happened during countdown at start, just after I died, just before dying as I'm being rushed, hiding in a bush.  IOW, not sure if it's something specific that causes the chain of events.  Hopefully I did the zip file correctly.  I'm a boomer, did my best LOL.

 

Been happening ever since I got new computer and had to install game and aslain mod pack from scratch.  I've tried all the options when loading in new modpack update, i.e. cleaning cache etc. and did the game integrity and repair check from the start up button.

 

I've never had the issue before.  The only new mods I added was the old skool prevent from shooting killed enemy or at friendly tank.

First check if the issue persists without any modifications. From what I recall, this problem also occurs occasionally for players not using mods, and it began with the game's update to version 1.25.1.1, suggesting the issue might be on Wargaming's end. You also mentioned that this is happening on a new computer, so it's possible that something wasn't installed correctly. It would be a good idea to check your PC drivers and test other games as well. Found nothing wrong in your attached logs.

ok thanks.  I'll strip everything off and reinstall game and modpack from scratch.

confirmed it's nothing in the mod pack.  Did a clean install of the game and was playing without any mods.  Went about 50 games so I thought maybe I was on to something when suddenly game froze again.  Then you cant quit out of game or alt tab.  You need to control alt delete and sign off computer.  Really sucks.  Hoping next update for game for battle pass and 1.26 fixes whatever.  Doubt it, but we'll see.

 

I checked my graphics card, windows, all that and everything up to date.  So dang frustrating.  Oh well.  If anyone ever figures out what's wrong with similar problem, please lmk.  Thanks.

ty for your help its just weird that if the mod pack isnt in that i can see everything on that 1 tank inparticular ... its ok im love the pack thanks for producing it 🙂

some more info on this bug for anyone who cares/has similar issues. Maybe with more details someone can figure it out.  Although with this post you'll see, it's clearly something in the game or something in the game that's interacting with the graphic card.

 

So I unistalled norton anti virus just in case there was something there causing a glitch.  I went about 3 or 4 days without a freeze and so I thought I had finally figured it out.  Well, no luck.  Past 3 days I've frozen 2 times now.  What's new though, and it could be just coincidence, is the past 2 times, it only freezes in garage.  Thank god.  Much better than freezing in game of course, but still a pain.

 

Because I wasn't in game and had time to fiddle around with what exactly I could do, here's what I discovered.  The crash totally locks you out of your desktop and open windows, at least visually for sure.  YOu cannot access any program, open any new windows, etc. or maybe you can, but you won't see them. YOu basically are stuck on the frozen screen as a visual.  Once you alt tab, it brings up whatever windows you had open to pick which panel you want, but you cannot pick anything.  at that point the screen switches to black.  If you ctrl alt del, it gives you the usual options- sign off, change user, task manager, etc.  You can pick any of them, but task manager will not display.  If you switch user, it will go to the pop up with new user, etc. but you are still stuck on the black screen when it relaunches.  

 

I put computer in airplane mode and sleep mode thinking that would help break the frozen visual.  In both, when you switch back on, you are still stuck on black screen.

 

Literally the only way you can get out of the frozen black screen is to sign off from ctrl alt del or to shut down from power menu.

 

Sorry, Im not a techie person, but in layman's terms, the freeze literally blocks you out of everything "visual".  It looks like you can open new windows, like task manager, but you can't see them.  And there's no way to close down just the running game unless you basically sign off or power off.

 

Anyway, praying 1.26 patch will fix this. Doubt it.  And in that case, I'm hoping the freezes have somehow just moved to garage which still sucks, but at least I don't ruin a game.

new patch, same bug.  Went like 200 or 250 games without a freeze and thought for a second the new 1.26 had fixed whatever was wrong.  But now it starts again.  Every 15ish games or so.

 

thought I'd be smart and download the mod that allows you to quick exit game and get to login so I wouldn't have to sign off computer completely and reboot.  But the game completely freezes.  The control K command does not work once you freeze up unfortunately.

 

oh well.  I guess I'll just roll the dice every game as to whether I freeze and to whether it's at a critical point in the game.
