DexterMaximus Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Well, It seems there is a new aimbot in town. [edited] This is gonna raise all manor of shit! My first thought, is this is unfair, though I suspect many will be using this very soon! Though at higher tiers, I guess it may actually be of little use, but lower tiers WTF! I am aware that many will never use such a mod, yet it appears that WG are only going to "monitor the situation"...? This does not really bode well for a huge number of players, though I can at least understand why some will want a mod added to you pack. What are your thoughts Aslain? Quote
DexterMaximus Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 After some thought, I can see why this mod may have use's but only in the training room to actually teach new players how to actually aim. Though in the real game, I am really not sure nor happy. I do get the "arms race" of competition and gamer edge, but still....? Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 22, 2015 Administrator Posted September 22, 2015 This is very bad news :( This should be banned, or WG should introduce this as default WoWs option, otherwise playing against such players won't be fun for you. Quote
Smite72 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I actually don't think that aimbots in WoWS will give you/the aimbot user a significant advantage over other players. In this game, you only succeed with situational awareness, you have to know when anwhere to move, chosing fights wisely. It is not about running at full speed in straight lines blasting from all guns at every single available and unavailable target. Dumb captains will play like this and pray that your ennemy team has more of them than you do, but their carreers will be short lived. Every ship that sails into a cloud of ennemies wil be takewn down in a very short time, even fast and maneuvrable destroyers... The key to success is knowing when to engage and when to seek cover, when to follow the pack to get easy kills and when to roam deserted map parts. Now, for the aimbot's use in WoWS. Aiming manually for me is fun and I admit that I often hit true but I also often miss. Mostly this has nothing to do with my bad aiming, but with the situational awareness of my opponent. He turns or slows or both, when he sees me firing. As I often prefer to engage at long distances, my shells fly 5s+ to the designated target. This allows even Battleships to alter course... At least in theory... :) When I die, it's ibecause I get tunnel vision and want to focus on that targeted ennemy alone, ignoring the threats his buddies pose.... I cannot predict Wargaming's reaction to this "aim assist", they might even integrate it, maybe for coop battles or for captains up to service rank 3 or something, but the original gun scope provides us with almost every information we need to get a firing solution, we see the distance and flight time, we can see the cours and estimate/calculate the ennemy's position by the end of flight time, we can estimate it'S speed from the smoke over the ships and so on... We pretty much always have enough time to estimate our own firing solution, and, seriously, in times where we do not, aim-assist will not help as you won't have the time to align the turrets neither... So, for all those who will use it, do it, and let me taste your sweet precious tears, when you get owned by someone who drives smartly and outmaneuvers you every time... 1 Quote
SchrottiGER Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 WG already knows about that Cheat. Its only a setup of a Version what was used in 4.1...... As a Supertester I cant tell you more but be sure, WG will do some against it, but - for sure - I dont know when WG will do it - it will as ever starts silent and some Cheat-Kids will need to create new accounts... Maybe WG will in future realise, that they should bind an Account to a true IP/mac-adress and no multiaccount should possible anymore... Hold the fair-play up Mates and dont let you disturb from that dumb Noobs and game destroyers. cheers 1 1 Quote
TheDarkDragon123 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 to be honest its better then the old 3.0.2 where you had the work done for you this requires you to do the math and work to get it right so in all honesty its not really unfair if you aint good at math its your own fault and its out there so anyone can really use it its not like you have to buy this... 1 1 Quote
srmalloy Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 When I die, it's ibecause I get tunnel vision and want to focus on that targeted ennemy alone, ignoring the threats his buddies pose.... This. I had a battle this evening where I was fixated with my St. Louis on an, IIRC, South Carolina, and I noticed that I was taking fire outside of the BB's shots. Backing out of binox view, there was a Tenryu that had grounded on a nearby island shooting at me; I put two broadsides into him and he went down, and I returned to the BB; we traded shots as I circled an island, mostly dodging his fire, until friendly ships came up and helped finish him off for the win. Take a look around, particularly when your shells have a longer flight time; the hull you save may be your own. Quote
