rudejohn Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Game worked fine before the latest game update. I have no idea if the cause is the game update or the Aslain update, as I did them at the same time. Symptoms: Minimap stops working correctly. Vehicles on the other side of the map are spotted and move around correctly; vehicles near my tank are not spotted, don't move, and don't show up There are a few short "gaps" in the game, where I can still see my screen but nothing moves, not even my mouse About a minute later, if I'm still in game, the game crashes. Complete crash - CTRL+ALT+DEL and ALT+F4 etc don't work. I have to hard power off my machine and restart Video card stats are hot, but nowhere near crash-level hot System: Windows7 MSI R7950 Twin Frozr Radeon HD 7950 3GB PCI Express Stable PCU/system otherwise Attempts to fix: Updated to latest Radeon drivers Windows Update for critical updates Reinstalled World of Tanks Updated to latest Aslain version Tried other games (unable to reproduce) Tried same game on shitty laptop (works fine but fps stinks) My next steps: Play many games without Aslain's mods (OUCH!) and if I can replicate in plain vanilla, send replays to WOT What I'm asking: Is any of this "known issue" type stuff since the last patch? Grandorf Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi My standard answer is that your system is cluttered. So a cleaning software and a good defrag might do it. Quote
rudejohn Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 (edited) Hi My standard answer is that your system is cluttered. So a cleaning software and a good defrag might do it. Good general advice. My system defrags every week and all drives are at 0%. I format frequently and check all my running processes weekly. There is no clutter on my system. I'm 95% sure it's either a problem with one of Aslain's minimap mods, a problem with World of Tanks itself, or a hardware glitch in my video card. Just trying to see if anyone else out there has seen a similar issue (which would rule out hardware glitch on my video card). Thanks, RJ Edited January 1, 2016 by rudejohn Quote
Grandorf Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi Ok, check if you chose right XVM-settings in installer, some might overwrite or conflict. Also some testing software should quickly tell you if any hardware is faulting. Also some softwares like Advanced Systemcare could help. Quote
