Everytime Wargaming releases a patch, you will need to update World of Tanks, which should be obvious.

Like from 9.13 to 9.14.

Those patches usually change something in the game, so that many mods don't work anymore, for the new version of WoT.

Modders then have to change their mods, so that they will work again with the updated game.

In theory, if mods work for a patch once, they can work all the time, until Wargaming patches again and don't need to be updated until then.

So, a lot of mods will work for .14 now and won't change (a lot) until .15 comes around.

However, a lot of mods use XVM, which also sometimes changes how mods works and that needs to be updated from time to time.

Not to mention, that some bugs may seem to work at first but still have bugs here and there.

There are also sometimes small updates/micropatches released by Wargaming, which don't change the version of the game but still can break mods.

All in all, it's better to update your modpack from time to time (like once a week or if you see a lot of things updated in the changelog), even if the WoT version hasn't changed.

It helps to avoid bugs from mods and sometimes gives you better options for how to use them (like different positions on the screen or more/different features).
