Question about minimap markings

I must have missed something but I don't quite understand the circles save for fire range in this. I'm in a New york in that match.

 

 

Actually in the next match, those lines are gone.

1. White circle - range at which you can be detected by an enemy ship.

2. Yellow circle - range at which you can be detected by an enemy airplane group.

3. Lines disappearing - bug, glitch, who knows ?

the dotted line represents your effective firing range for torps/guns

I would also like to mention that there is a bug sometimes with the circles. The circles sometimes expand beyond the map sometimes even if your in a destroyer/cruiser.

easy trick and fix when your circles gone haywire in any ships, just press - or + (minimap resize) and it will show your actual circles.
