Sounds like a case of "Windows Defender" - try adding the installer as exclusion to Windows Defender. Or let Windows Defender do it's slow scan.

Using YasenKrasen myself, and it's counting battles. By default it'll only count Random battles.

XVM Regular shouldn't be there. If you remove that, the icons should be fixed. Could you check your Windows Fonts folder? What fonts do you have in there, with "XVM" in their name? There should only be one, "XVMSymbol_22.0.ttf" aka "XVMSymbol Normal"

There shouldn't be any "no-no" mods in the modpack, and if there is, then they updated their list (if there is one), without anyone knowing, hehe.
