Absolutely, go with the stuff you are used to.

To me its cluttered, but I have changed my HUD

and mods and XVM settings so many times over

the years so Im not the guy to tell a player what to do.

I think I can do without the static white circle since the dynamic view range (light blue) always gives the view range at the current time which is all that is actually useful to me.

Edit:  I just went back and looked in the modpack installer and I did indeed have the navy circle to indicate moving view range selected.  I will probably only use the dynamic one in the future as having both seems a bit redundant to me too.

Exciting times as always...waiting to download and play...haha.

  2. The max 445 max detect circle is useful for me to judge when I need to move my big ass arty when an enemy is approaching.  If something can be spotted at 445m it is probably going to be one of my artys.  I use binocs because I want to be able to see out to 445.  I know that a view range beyond 445 is useless.  The red max draw range circle lets me know that if a tank is  beyond this distance he can not see me to aim at me.  It is all about map awareness in arty because I do not have armour, hit points, or normally mobility to use in my defence.  I have to rely on knowledge.

  3. I am only sharing the following information to support the OP in that I have a related/similar problem.  As we are getting 9.15 in the next day or so, I do not see a need to seek a fix for the problem.  Besides, it is not that important to me.  If someone wishes to have my logs, just ask.

In xvm, I have selected the following:

    445m Max detect (yellow)

    564m max draw (red)

    Dynamic view range (blue)

    view range standing (white)

I have stereoscope binuculars on my T92 (for those times when I wish to use the T92 ninja passive scouting skills...:D )  Actual view range is 380m and 475 with binocs as reported by the game.

Here is a gif showing how the circles change without binocs and with.  I can not see how these circles correctly represent the respective distances.  The red one, and white one seem correct as well as the yellow one.  But the blue one is confusing.  I do not have the navy blue view range while moving circle selected in the mod.

Hmm, could it be a hoax. Anybody tested it?

Hrmm, KNOW somebody who have tested it?

I am sure that somebody has a friend whose cousin's big brother has used it and therefore it has to be real...:D

  5. I really dont understand how the game client/server side reticle can be compromised in such a way that this "mod" is even possible.  I would think that it aims where it aims....and not any place else.

  6. I am an arty only player and I will not try such a mod.  The reason why I will not try such a mod is mainly because I think it will be a waste of time, not to mention money.  Anyone who has played a lot of battles in the CGC may understand the problem with this mod.  The CGC has a relatively long shell to target travel time and when used at long ranges this time to target is so long that often the tank moves enough that either you completely miss with a very small amount of splash damage, or you do no damage at all.  I am 100% not interested in lengthening the amount of time that my target has to move.  If this "mod" exists, which I have my doubts after watching the video, I believe that it will help active tank drivers (non campers) more than it will help the arty player.  The shell travel time on one of the T92 shots looked to be more than 5 seconds. That is an awful big window of time that effectively multiplies the random numbers, or the movements, of the enemy tank driver.

At any rate, if it is in fact real, I would not trust an exe file from someone trying to "cheat" at anything.  If people do use it or any other "mod" such as this, I hope somehow they are permanently banned from the game as they are the true cancer in the game.

One last edit:  If you sit in one space long enough while your are humping your favorite rock to get hit by a shell that travels more than 5 seconds through the air not to mention the 8 seconds or so of aim time added to that you are asking to be hit.  And this is especially after you have been spotted with the knowledge that arty is in the battle.  Ever heard of the "Survival of the fittest" theory?

  7. I did not originally know if they were due to a bug in XVM or a problem with the installer itself so I did not assume anything.  There was no information concerning any type of error given by the client.  I try not to ever assume anything because when I assume something I often will make and ass out of u and me

Everything is ok and I understand your position.

At first i had problems too, because of the option

-Markers for spotted and flipped tanks on the OTM [XMQP]

    its an experimental mod.

I had many things that are not been installed or things that i don't selected are installed.

I installed it new without that option and all works fine.

Just try to install it without that, may it is working then.

Thanks corecroft27.  I left XMQP activated but deselected the Markers for flipped and spotted tanks and everything is working perfectly.

  9. UPDATE:  Thanks to corecroft27 and his post below, the problem has been solved.  The OTM markers for spotted and flipped tanks (experimental) apparently was messing xvm up.  I deselected only it and reinstalled the modpack and everything works perfectly now.

The following items are not being installed in 9.14.50 installer:

2 row carousel:  It is selected in the installer but I have only 1 row

Auto Login does not work even though it is selected

I have selected Best Icons Ever by Grandorf and they are not installed

I have selected big centered XVM mini map. It is big but not centered.

This is all that I have noticed so far.

    Thanks in advance

  10. I was just in a battle with another player which had the indication (gold/yellow bar) next to his name indicating that he had XMQP.  I asked him if he had 6th sense and he said yes.  He was in a light tank and was in close combat with several enemy tanks and there was never an indication, that I could see, that his 6th sense had gone off.  Am I missing something here?  What should I be seeing?  A screenshot would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. I completely understand the problem that pierrevn has.  It took me FOREVER to find XMQP in the installer.  Even after I found it the first time, selected it and later wanted to make sure I had indeed selected it, I almost gave up before finding it.  Maybe if the font color could be changed for a new addition, but if it can not be done we can live with it...or at least I can.

  12. Thanks Quaksen.  So, I suppose I will only see this type of information if both I and another player have this enabled in xvm.  Is this correct?  Do you know of any documentation available on this part of xvm?  I did not turn anything up in a Google search.

  13. I see that we now have the option to enable or disable XMQP in the xvm settings.  I have done a Google search to learn what this is and have not been able to find any information.

What type of information does it allow the sharing of between players and how does it work?  What is the purpose or benefit of using it?  Any information regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

is probably his most famous song.  Great guitar solo at the end if you like guitar.  He could play all instruments and on some recordings he played all instrument

Google him and experience him.  He really was what many would call a musical genius.  If you like funk...check him out.

  15. I just now saw this post.  I was lucky enough to get to see Prince on his Purple Rain tour in Birmingham, Alabama in January 1985.  It is still the most amazing concert I have ever seen...and I have seen a lot of big artists live.  It was a big funky party.  I think even the dead people in the graves were getting their funky groove on.  No one could sit still during that show.

His talent and passion for music will surely be missed.

  16. While it is my favorite arty sight, I would not ask you to re-add it if it causes problems for you or other people.  I can click on my victims just as good with one of the other sights.  Maybe after the next update, we can try it again.

  17. I hope so.  I did not have any problems with it before or after it was removed.  The only negative thing I experienced with the current version that Quaksen linked to above was that it was not in English and I was forced to use the standard configuration instead of the way it was configured in the ModPack by Aslain.  I am not adept enough at modding to make the changes myself.  Also, I liked being able to combine it with J1mbos in the ModPack.

  18. of course, everytime I try to run, I always think it is an error.  'As a matter of fact, if you see me running, you should not ask any questions but you should also run in the same direction because something really bad is chasing me.....
