updbum Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I got the same message about the files on Firefox from 2 different Aslain direct sites. Up Quote
Altansar Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 The File is compromised and has been infected if I had to guess. File downloaded is showing different Sha256 checksums. Correct Sha256: b008cc17cf80f5faf8d9661cf168809f562b7842449352bd5c9f3976925744c9 Downloaded file sha256: E3B0C44298FC1C149AFBF4C8996FB92427AE41E4649B934CA495991B7852B855 Quote
Capitano Muky Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Dont know from what site did you take it, but it is OK. I downloaded it, got the same info as you, but my NOD32 (registered and payed and daily updated antivirus program) didnt find anything in it. Download it from official ASLAIN site, that is the best. But I have another problem. Will post about that message. Quote

The downloaded checksum is correct - if yours is not, that could just indicate you had issues while downloading it. It's just Chrome being dumb, once again.. they love flagging new files. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted November 30, 2018 Moderator Posted November 30, 2018 False positives. Do you honestly trust the detection that two random programs has done? Not even any of the major companies are showing anything. Relax. Check the SHA-256 if you're worried. I did - and it's 100% match to what Aslain provided. 1 Quote

I tried all four downloads on both Chrome and FireFox. Using Raymond Lin's MD5 & Checksum Utility 2.1, The result was the same each time. Checksums are not matching. Quote

I just downloaded links 2-5, and they were all 100% match against the SHA-256 posted by Aslain: SHA256: b008cc17cf80f5faf8d9661cf168809f562b7842449352bd5c9f3976925744c9 (for links #2-5) Used 7-zip's CRC SHA option. Given that I downloaded it fine - and you didn't - it sounds like it's just on your end, that something is messing the file up. Quote
Altansar Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) Link 2,4-5 are showing a different Sha256 than the correct one. Link 3 this time came back as a match. Tested them all again on FireFox v(63.0.3). So internet is being funny I guess. Edited November 30, 2018 by Altansar Grammer Quote
Capitano Muky Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Dude, I download from aslain.com randomly without any looking from which link I do that. Sometimes from 1, than 5, than again 3.... damn what antivirus program do you have on your PC ? Pay for licence NOD32 and forget any problems. I have no problems with this downloading from the firs time I did that. Only once was false positive, and after that never any problems. Your PC mus be infected !!!! Quote
