Installer freezes at checking for updates

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I used to be able to install mod pack without issues. However the last version that worked for me was v.1.10.1.0_03. When I try to install the newer versions, the installer freezes at checking for updates stage and I have to kill the process. I'm using windows 7. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and disabling windows firewall.

Unfortunately I can't find log files because I uninstalled the previous version.

The installer is connecting to https://pastebin.com to check its version, is this site blocked on your side?

Thanks for the very fast reply aslain. Yes that site is blocked in my country. So I opened VPN and ran the installer and it works now. Thanks a lot again.

OK, strange anyway, since I'm using pastebin for version check since forever. Either way you know what to do :)

Actually you know what? The check for updates always gave error and I never paid mind to it. It would always say "cant check for newer version" but it would install without problems. It started freezing only with the recent updates. Anyway thanks again.

I got the problem with pastebin.com since the last 2 or 3 updates. My Kaspersky says, that the file has lost his certificate, so the problem is caused by the company, publishing pastebin.com.

Maybe You changed the installer to http, but Kaspersky is asking every time, if I would continue, because its unsafe. I agree and continue, but after installation of the modpack, I'm not able to check installed version. 🤢
