timbo2410 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Ok .. complete fail to start game after update. Just updated and I cannot even log into game. Can start in safe mode just fine but otherwise all I get is a blank screen/garage .. help please guys :-( Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 30, 2016 Author Posted July 30, 2016 If I try and launch it comes up resource path does not exist: ./res_mods/0.9.15.1 Quote
tarbox23 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 you must have deleted it. create that folder, restart game. Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 30, 2016 Author Posted July 30, 2016 Nope, created that folder and it will not work. Is there anything supposed to be in the folder? Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 30, 2016 Author Posted July 30, 2016 re-installed game. Installed XVM (Aslains) .. still no joy. File missing even though I created new one. Will only play in safe mode? Quote
exarish Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Did you create it like this? C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.9.15.1 Red doesn't matter, but the structure of the wot root onward needs to be identical. Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 I made a folder in the res_mods folder called 0.9.15.1 ... I have just done a full clean install and have played the game with no mods and everything works fine .. I am just about to install Aslains XVM .. am I doing anything wrong ? I'm just running aslains xvm with standard install folder (ie: C drive etc) Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 nope still not go ... am I just not getting this? In the C drive I have a "Games" folder In this folder I have a World_of_Tanks folder In this folder I have a res_mods folder In this folder I have a 0.9.15.1 folder .. it's there .. in place .. why the F*%k doesn't it work Quote
bubs79 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) have u tried making aslains installer an exception though antivirus , ie windows defender? Edited July 31, 2016 by bubs79 Quote
timbo2410 Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 nope .. will look and see how nope just tried that and exactly the same error .. what the hell is going on .. I've never had this problem before .. Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 Ok, I think I have found a problem here .. if I manually put the folder 0.9.15.1 in the res mods folder and run aslains XVM , it is deleted when the xvm is installing ? And yet if I try and run WOT without it, then it will not run at all? Cmon people, help me out here please .. Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Right click the installer and select 'Run as administrator'. It sounds like something is not letting the installer recreate the 0.9.15.1 forlder. If that doesn't work... create the 0.9.15.1 folder, run the installer and select 'Normal Install'. That should stop the installer from deleting the mod 0.9.15.1 folder. 1 Quote
henry_the_duke Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Fail ! I can only start game in safe mode! Waiting for the next try! Edited August 1, 2016 by henry_the_duke Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 ok just did that and it didn't delete the 0.9.15.1 folder, about to play and see what happens .. thanks for the help :-) ok the game starts now but I have no mods at all? Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Wow.. I'm really stumped here. After a successful install the res_mods folder should contain the following folders ... 0.9.15.1, configs, and mods. All those folder should have an assortment folders and/or files. It sounds like your system is not letting the installer create the necessary files and folders. Have you tried to download a new copy of the installer? Someone else had mentioned creating an exception in you anti-virus software. <-- Is an excellent idea. Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 did all that .. my res mods folder contains the 0.9.15.0.1 .. note the difference .. when I try and run the game normally (not in safe mode), it asks for the 0.9.15.1 folder .. if I place a new folder in the res mods folder called 0.9.15.1 then the game will start normally but without any of the mods ?? this is a clean install .. I've never had this problem before and never had to do this .. I even did a cclean and registry clean prior to installing the game again .. Which installer are you talking about ? XVM installer or Aslains_WoT_Modpack_Installer_v.9.15.34 .. I'm using Aslains installer Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Let me see if I understand correctly... You run the installer and it creates the 0.9.15.0.1 folder in res_mods? That is for the previous patch. Are you using the 'Aslains_WoT_Modpack_Installer_v.9.15.1.03.exe' installer? Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 ummm no .. I've been running the auto update 9.15.34 ... Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 That would be your problem. Download the latest installer and you should be fine. Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 2, 2016 Author Posted August 2, 2016 Downloaded and installed .. thank you so much for your help :-) Are the greyed out sections in the mods section a result of the updates to WOT ? Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Glad to hear everything is working now. The greyed out items are not ready yet as they are still in the process of rewriting xvm. You still might encounter some issues in game. Sometimes my escape and tab keys won't work in game. Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 2, 2016 Author Posted August 2, 2016 funny you should say that. My left and right control buttons don't work ... Quote
Crooze66 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 When that happens I restart the game. Sometimes it fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. Quote
timbo2410 Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 hmm today I have no function from either control keys, escape key or tab ... I also cannot use mouse to highlight co-ordinates or use mouse to highlight commands ..? Quote
