The_Jimmy_Rustler Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Album: http://imgur.com/a/ynVYP Just updated my launcher & mods. Got these errors near the end of the installation. Edited December 21, 2015 by The_Jimmy_Rustler Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted December 21, 2015 Administrator Posted December 21, 2015 Try to run the installer as administrator, if no help then that means you have javascript engine missing on your pc, and it's required for the installer. You need an IT guy to fix it, or try do it manualy, you have to google it. Examples: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/230/1/Error-There-is-no-script-engine-for-file-extension-when-running-js-files.html http://triplescomputers.com/blog/casestudies/solution-cant-find-script-engine-vbscript-for-script/ Quote
MGIMATTY Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Pretty sure you're missing Java. http://www.java.com Edited December 21, 2015 by MGIMATTY Quote
The_Jimmy_Rustler Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 Thanks for the advice but no luck. I've tried everything I could find but it looks like I'm gonna have to restore my system using an old backup from September. Now I wish I'd kept my weekly backup schedule... Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted December 21, 2015 Administrator Posted December 21, 2015 Installing Java is also an idea, won't harm. Quote
The_Jimmy_Rustler Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 Yeah I tried that. Still got the same errors :( I'm almost positive that this is something to do with Avast Antivirus but I've tried everything I could find to fix it. I've uninstalled it using the AvastClear Uninstall Utility, then reinstalled Java after checking the registry to make sure everything is as it should be. Still no luck. Very frustrating  Quote
Grandorf Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hi Try cleaning up registry et.c and run SFC http://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-run-system-file-checker-analyze-its-logs-in-windows-7-vista Quote
The_Jimmy_Rustler Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 I already tried that :( I've just completed a fresh Windows install (my backup had become corrupted) and the problem is solved, with the added side effects of a slightly faster PC and less clutter :D Thanks for trying to help, guys ;) Quote
