KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I have been trying to download from your site via mega. I keep getting an error message that says temporarily unable to download, retrying; however, I see no activity in the download. I have tried with Internet Explorer and Chrome, get same response in each. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Try the "mediafire" link right next to it; works for me. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I am trying to download mod plus installer 3.8.9_92.exe, first it says Initializing, then Temporary error, retrying, but nothing happens. Just wanted to clarify. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I will try that and let you know. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 AV program says infected file. Is it OK? Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Highly unlikely that it's infected but if you want to make sure, you can scan it online with https://www.virustotal.com/ which uses multiple AV sources. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Seems to be downloading now. Thanks. Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 No problem. Just for the future: Aslain always scans his stuff before uploading, since he's an IT guy. So it's very unlikely that he will ever have an infected file online. If you really want to make sure though, always take the few seconds and run a quick scan on the downloaded file with your own AV and/or the mentioned site. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I got the mod downloaded and installed, but now it makes the game crashed. I saw that another player had the same issue, so I followed the thread. I can not find a WoTLauncher.exe file in my Games/WoT folder. What next? I don't want to have to uninstall and download everything again if I can avoid that. Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 What kind of crash is it exactly? Once you hit "play" the game doesn't even start to launch or crashing ingame when doing something specific? Just to narrow things down a bit more for ppl who actually have a clue. If it's the exact same issue as in the other thread, try to maybe post .logs too and do a full bug-report. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted August 10, 2014 Administrator Posted August 10, 2014 No WoTLauncher.exe, wow how is this possible? since the installer has nothing to do with removing this file. Try to run integrity scan, like it was suggested in the other topic http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/207-389-prevents-wot-from-running/ Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I have a WoTLauncher, no .exe, when I right click on the file and select properties there is no "Target" area for me to input "_integrity". What now? Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I saw the post you mentioned, but I cannot find the WoTLauncher.exe file. Can I run an integrity scan another way? Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted August 10, 2014 Administrator Posted August 10, 2014 True that, I forgot you don't have it :P I'm too tired today.... Try my original wotlauncher.exe for 9.2 https://mega.co.nz/#!0JcTkBqa!0Ht55Buy7equNz_QSG20ySqySaKycnZ52Y-DGPLXje8 Sorry but have no time to upload to slowmediafire. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 The files that I have in my Games/WorldofTanks/ are: Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 WoTLauncher.cfg WoTLauncher (WoT emblem in front) WoTLauncher WoTLauncher.log.bak That is all I see. Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The one with the WoT icon on it is prolly the .exe (which you should be seeing when right-clicking and selecting properties). Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Tried that, got message, "failed to connect to update service", so still a no go! Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 OK, right clicking and selecting properties only gives me the following headings under General: Type of File, Description, Location, Size, Size on Disk, Created, Modified, Accessed and Attributes, no Target listed. Any further suggestions? I have to go, so will check back later for answer. Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Tell me how to make picture. Sorry, just a point and click guy! Quote
xoxoSi Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Heres my WoTLauncher.exe for the NA client if you're still after it? Unzip it and put the WoTLauncher.exe file in the main World_of_Tanks folder http://www.mediafire.com/download/qi01tpo8e4792vx/WoTLauncher.zip Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted August 10, 2014 Administrator Posted August 10, 2014 Launch windows "Snipping Tool", select the area to make as screenie, save, upload :) Quote
Almace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 OK, right clicking and selecting properties only gives me the following headings under General: Type of File, Description, Location, Size, Size on Disk, Created, Modified, Accessed and Attributes, no Target listed. Any further suggestions? I have to go, so will check back later for answer. This should tell you that the file you are examining is an (.exe). If you have the correct file, proceed as in the video Aslain pointed you to. Quote
BeGiN Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 @@KnightsCrossPanzerAce, I've took my liberty to scan the installer , again, with Virus Total ( Online scanner with 52 different antiviruses ) - LINK I recommend you to get an Antivirus Program ( LINK ) and run a Full Scan. Best Regards, BeGiN Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Here are screenshots of what I am seeing. First is the Failure to launch message, next is the Critical Error message and last is the WoTLauncher page, no "Target" area to modify for "_integrity". Any ideas? Quote
Almace Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 The WoTLauncher pic is of the properties of the original file, isn't it? You're supposed to create a shortcut of the file (right-click > send to > desktop) and then do the whole target / integrity thing, as I understand it. So I'd go from there and see if any game files get fixed. Quote
samoritu Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 o,o... i ques you have to instal the game again...but before that do a virus scan...u have a virus in your sistem.. second option, do a system restore ...(u can try this first) ;) Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted August 11, 2014 Administrator Posted August 11, 2014 It's a virus imho. Are you sure, you have followed the instructions on how to download? Maybe on adly or something, you clicked on their spam/virus window instead on Skip Ad? Quote
KnightsCrossPanzerAce Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 OK, I did not create a shortcut to my desktop. Got that now. Already had removed programs. I am redownloading and reinstalling. I will run integrity scan if needed. A big thanks to everyone for all advice and assistance. Knights Quote
