walkerwj55 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Each time I download the installer file my antivirus flags and deletes it. Never had that problem with prior versions. Looking at the description there may be items that caused the flag. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted July 1 Administrator Posted July 1 False-positive. Your antivirus is the problem here. In the new modpack update, the installer was built on the new version inno setup, that most of the Antivirus software doesnt know yet, so they will go into paranoid mode and report threats, but there is no threats for real. Moderator Quaksen Posted July 1 Moderator Posted July 1 The 'threat' is even just called "Suspicious" there.. it's since the software used was updated, and some antivirus just hates it for now. Quote

So, how do I keep the AV from automatically deleting it, Whitelist it? Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted July 1 Moderator Posted July 1 You should be able to whitelist either the file, or maybe just the domain Quote
Captain Longsack Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Same issue, turned off all anti-virus protections and firewall. Downloaded fresh copy. I have checked permissions, taken ownership, run as admin... will Not install !! Quote

walkerwj55 Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 I turned off my antivirus scanning, downloaded the file, OK'd the message to let the file make changes, then got this message: Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted July 3 Moderator Posted July 3 If you turned it off - then it wouldn't warn you still. You have to try and whitelist the file in ESET, or look into how to temporarily disable ESET - from your image - it's still running 🙂 It's probably freaking out since the internal software update, it's pretty much also the only company that is freaking out.. 😞 Not sure where to send in the file to them - to get them to fix the false positive. Quote
walkerwj55 Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 I already clicked an automatic link to Mark this file as safe. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted July 3 Moderator Posted July 3 And it's still being a pain in the butt? 😞 I wish I knew ESET better, then I could help better 😄 Quote
walkerwj55 Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 I finally got it. I had to whitelist the actual link, not just the webpage. Quote
Captain Longsack Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Not sure why they 'fixed' something that wasn't broken but... To make this run I had to completely kill ESET, all real time system protection and HIPS plus white list the URL. Saw little point white listing the file as it will change with each update, could white list without the build number and rename each time but I prefer to keep last copy in case a rollback is needed. Administrator Aslain Posted July 6 Administrator Posted July 6 It's worth to sumbit the installer file to your AV makers, so they can fix this in future: AVAST https://businesshelp.avast.com/Content/Products/General_Help/SampleSubmission/SubmittingFalsePositives.htm ESET NOD https://support.eset.com/en/kb141-submit-a-virus-website-or-potential-false-positive-sample-to-the-eset-lab AVG https://www.avg.com/en-ww/report-false-positive#pc Windows Defender https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission Quote
StEnDi78 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I can confirm that ESET is causing massive problems with this Aslain version. I tried to add the file to the exceptions, but no luck! (Grayed out) I temporarily stopped ESET's protection completely, but ESET still blocked the file from running. I have already submitted the file to ESET for review and also asked why the program is so patronizing. I am looking forward to the answer from ESET Support. 1 Quote

Thanks, this is usually most effective way, just more slower, but once approved it will be solved for quite some time Quote
StEnDi78 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 ESET has approved the file, for all ESET users should be working now. Quote
JimMorrison1973 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 same now in version 13.6.0 #5 with Eset Ultimate... Quote
