Doubled55 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I have a simple question, do all the people that play WoT or WoW use only the keyboard and mouse to play the game. Are there any other types of controllers that are used. I watch some of the live streams and am amazed how these people control the tanks and ships,it almost seems like they are in the vehicle driving. I fumble around just trying to make sure I know my left from my right. Also would it be better to use a wireless mouse? Are some mouses better than others? If so, what do you recommend. I'm just trying to be a better player but I do not have unlimited time to play. Again thanks to all for your input and support. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 5, 2016 Administrator Posted February 5, 2016 Nothing can match mouse precision when aiming, you can probably use xbox controler and stuff like that but it won't be great experience. Maybe you saw them playing on consoles where they have different controler. Quote
Grandorf Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi A true gamer never uses wireless. That said it depends on what for and where you have your computer. The mouse should feel good, everything else you can adjust ingame or with mouse software. Personally I prefer a heavy bulky mouse and using large movements. For the keybord stay within reason, you dont need all that RGB, mechanical trigger flashy hyped stuff to have a great session. Quote
Doubled55 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Once again, thanks for your support and answers. When you say a heavy/bulky mouse, is there a manufacturer you have in mind? A lot of times it seems a though my mouse gets a little skittish. By the time I can get aimed I'm already dead! Probably helps that most of the gamers you see live streaming or on YouTube have played 20000 games plus. They don't even think, they just react. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 5, 2016 Administrator Posted February 5, 2016 :) I'm using G502 Proteus Core mouse and Logitech G19s. Works great together. Of course the more you play the better your knowledge about WoT is, so it's easier to aim, or decide where to go on map and why and so on and on. My desk: I don't like to move mouse too much. My typical usage is to move the mouse max 5cm in all directions while having my wrist in one place all the time. I cannot play with very high dpi and big moves. When friends coming to visit me, and trying to use my mouse, they cannot hit a thing because mouse pointer is all over the screen with their big moves :) Quote
Grandorf Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Yep Logitech has made some good mousecontrols. All the MX/G-series. With bulky and heavy I mean palmgrip, many use clawgrip. A good mouse is adjustable in size and weight but you can find a perfect one with trying out in stores. Quote
onmehedson Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I am also using the G502 proteus core mouse and my keyboard is the Corsair R70 rgb. But the main controller I use is a Saitek Cyborg joystick. It works perfectly and all the buttons are programmable. It feels great to actually press a trigger to fire the gun and tank direction feels more natural to me. Quote
Doubled55 Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Thanks to everybody for your help and input, truly outstanding. Went to local Best Buy and purchased a Naga hex wraith red gaming mouse with a new Razer Blackwidow ultimate elite keyboard. Have to get used to the feel of the mouse but I already like the feel and control. Already played five matches and did better. I realize that it isn't only the equipment that makes you a better player but it certainly helps. Quote
Grandorf Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Hmm So money was not an issue ;) . Glad you found some real quality hardware. Happy gaming :) Quote
Doubled55 Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 To Grandorf, Been saving for sometime but just didn't know what to ask for or purchase. All of your responses and guidance let me feel as though I would get it right. Is this a good setup? It fell within my budget and the assistant at the Best Buy was a gamer and showed me several options. Hopefully I did good, time will tell. Quote
Corwin Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 A lot of players go into settings and Remap our keys to fit our play style and keyboard usage.. example for me I use the W S A D to drive and remapped my T key to E to mark enemy tanks so less hand movement set most keys i never use too stuff that is never near my main control hand.. as for my Mouse like Aslain my mouse movements are very small and precise.. best advice play with your Key settings until you find something that works for you.. the odds that one of our setups working for you would be very small chance..
