knighthorse Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Got this error message as the install was finishing up. The install still finishes, and I was doing a full clean install and wiping the caches. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted September 26, 2014 Moderator Posted September 26, 2014 Getting a similar error, but with: \xvm\configs\Aslain\any_to.js (Doesn't seem to be preventing anything from working though... can anyone shed some light on what that js file is supposed to do?) :) Quote
BeGiN Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 That error usually occurs when not enough privileges , or antivirus.... we can not fix that.. It's definitely local BeGiN. Quote
kingwolf Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 never had that error til now though. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted September 26, 2014 Moderator Posted September 26, 2014 With the latest installer (3.9.4) I'm not getting the error anymore. (Haven't installed or uninstalled any programs, nor rebooted since last install attempt with 3.9.2, and haven't changed mods being installed) So might have been something in the installer afterall, that was fixed? (Edit; Spoke too soon, 3.9.5 throws it again for me :P ) Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 27, 2014 Administrator Posted September 27, 2014 I still belive it is somehow related to protective apps in the system, sometimes they trigger it, sometimes not.... this is why randomness. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 27, 2014 Administrator Posted September 27, 2014 I am still investigating this, I will make special installer and ask you to try it for this error. Quote
kingwolf Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 i have UAC disabled, and i dont use a firewall, i use AVIRA and Malware Bytes. still giving me this :c Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 27, 2014 Administrator Posted September 27, 2014 Try 3.9.8, let me know, then I prepare another installer for you to check it, I've got some idea. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted September 28, 2014 Moderator Posted September 28, 2014 (v3.9.8_v1 hotfix) No error thrown this time, clean install, same mod options selected in installer :) (Except for WoT Tweaker's "no fire and smoke when shooting", since it's temp removed) Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 28, 2014 Administrator Posted September 28, 2014 Good to hear that, so I directly tracked this damn issue once for good I hope :) Quote
kingwolf Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 yep didnt pop up for me either, thanks aslain! btw if you can separate the HD mods from the hitskins that be awesome, id like to have both please cx not one or the other lol Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 29, 2014 Administrator Posted September 29, 2014 yep didnt pop up for me either, thanks aslain! btw if you can separate the HD mods from the hitskins that be awesome, id like to have both please cx not one or the other lol These are already separated, you can either choose hitzones or HD skins, you cannot have both becasuse they are on the same files. Maybe someone will draw those hitzones on HD skins one day... Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted September 30, 2014 Moderator Posted September 30, 2014 3.9.11 seems to have made this error reappear somehow  Edit: Pausing Kaspersky Internet Security, made it not do that... however Kaspersky's log doesn't seem to mention anything. Oh well. Stuffs partially working, good enough for me :P :P :P Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted September 30, 2014 Administrator Posted September 30, 2014 For now I can tell the error might be either result of the overprotective app and bad luck with installer script that is executing things and locking the files, while the other script want to access them and cannot.
